22.1 Legacy Series / Gateway group switching, gateway is offline even though its online

Greetings, I'm very new to OPNsense, we moved to it 2 weeks ago when ZeroShell (7 years of untouched unmanaged uptime, god bless the stability that it had) server had a failure and since it is no longer supported we decided to switch to OPNsense The main and singular purpose of this node is to switch between 2 gateways inside a Gateway group when 1 connection to internet is lost (pings 8.8.8.
The issue that we encountered is that it does not switch back to the main gateway (has priority of 1, when the 2nd one has priority of 255, and is set to Tier 1 when the 2nd is Tier 2). It happens when there is no ping to 8.8.8.8 (Monitor IP), OPNsense marks it as offline, and switches to the backup. But it stays marked as offline until you edit something in the gateway, click Apply changes, and only then its status is Online again.
So the steps for our technician looks like this: Check OPNsense -> Notice that main gateway is offline -> Edit anything in this gateway -> Apply changes -> Gateway is online and sets to active
Has anybody encountered this error? Maybe we are doing something wrong
OPNsense 22.1.5-amd64 FreeBSD 13.0-STABLE
