Hi Abal

The fact is that in the standard system for building the OPNsense image
and the repository of packages and plugins, the sysutils/nut package
and the nut plugin are marked as not to be built for the arm and aarch64 architectures.

And that's why the guys who make custom builds of OPNsense for ARM architecture
don't build them and you don't see them.

It is not yet clear to me why this is done in OPNsense,
because the sysutils/nut package can be built and installed on the AARCH64 architecture.

You better ask the authors of the builds for AARCH64 and if it is personalbsd.org
then you should ask your question in the telegram channel https://t.me/PersonalBSD
Good luck.

I thought it was just me that didn't work so well. At the same time, it works stably in FreeBSD.

Has anyone tested the new driver version 197.00?

I am trying to get it to work on aarch64 NanoPi-R5S.
I have three Ethernet ports, two of them RTL8125BG.

Does anyone have experience testing exactly RTL8125BG?
I see a link up at 2.5GbE, but no packets get through.

Hardware and Performance / Re: OPNsense on ARM
December 23, 2022, 05:03:37 AM
Several guys are trying to run FreeBSD 14.0 on a similar Rockchip RK3568 NanoPi-R5S board.

This is the first step to getting OPNsense on it.

There are some small successes.

I finally made it work. The mac address of LAN is 00:00:00... so you won't be able to connect to the admin page and get a connection if you have: R4S -> a switch or a router -> your pc. You must connect your pc directly to R4S and update the mac address of LAN.

How do you do this?

How do you guys install the img from personalbsd? I tried using balenaetcher to write it to a sd card, but my r4s won't boot...

I put the sd card on the r4s and turn it on, the red led will light up and after some moments the lan and wan led will light up together for like 1-2 seconds then they will turn off to never turn on again and the system led will never turn on.

Try replacing the sd card

I was able to run VMware ESXi on MOCHAbin 5G.
And OPNsense is on it.

This can't be done on good hardware and the right SD card.
My images are tested and work for many guys.
What SD card are you using?
Try OPNsense-22.1.9.
Coming soon 22.7.

Here's what a custom build of OPNsense for MOCHAbin looks like.
It remains to add support for native Ethernet.

it is feasible to port OPNsense to an ARM Cortex-A72 (Marvell® ARMADA® 7040)?
There is a OpenWrt SNAPSHOT available for the Globalscale MOCHAbin (I do have dev board).
Moreover I have Debian and Ubuntu image.
What would be the way to go to port it?
thank you
stefan

Little progress on MOCHAbin.
FreeBSD started but Ethernet does not work.
What ideas?
