I rebooted the firewall into single user mode, ran fsck -y , and it found and repaired corruption. Then I rebooted and upgraded from the direct connection to 24.7.5.3.
Guess I'll have to do this on all the appliances, though I find it strange it happened on all of them.

24.7, 24.10 Legacy Series / Update after 24.7.5 fails
October 06, 2024, 02:21:59 PM
After the latest update to 24.7.5, every time I go to firmware/status/plugins section I get the popup that informs me the router is rebooting to upgrade to 24.7.5...every time. It happens on five different setups/systems. Also, I can only login via the browser... if I try to login via the direct connection I receive a login error/incorrect login.

22.7 Legacy Series / Issue with MongoDB after Upgrade
September 02, 2022, 06:40:07 PM
In one of my OPNSense installations, after upgrading to the latest 22.7 I receive constant list in console of "can't process src....." which seems to fall back to failed MongoDB, which shows as unavailable due to missing dependencies.

mongodb40 is missing a required shared library: libboost_program_options.so.1.72.0
mongodb40 is missing a required shared library: libboost_iostreams.so.1.72.0
mongodb40 is missing a required shared library: libboost_filesystem.so.1.72.0
mongodb40 is missing a required shared library: libboost_system.so.1.72.0
py37-pymongo has a missing dependency: python37
py37-pymongo has a missing dependency: py37-setuptools
py37-pymongo is missing a required shared library: libpython3.7m.so.1.0

I ran the upgrade choice from System:Firmware:Status, which seems to have resolved some dependency issues, but not these.
Is there any way from the GUI to resolve this? Or would a better choice be to do a backup, then make a fresh install with this version of OPNSense, then do a restore?

Under System: Firmware screen, at the bottom where you have the choice to run audit for connectivity, health, or security, click that drop down to see if an additional choice for upgrade shows. If it does show up, click it and allow it to finish.

Bingo!
TY
Now, where is the url on the OPNSense website that points to that?

Very interesting as I have two identical appliances and both were updated to the 21.1.8. The one I use on my own network is the one that failed miserably. I simply used console to reset to default, then walked through the setup again, and all is working well. The second appliance, located elsewhere, simply needed to be rebooted a second time, and everything is working fine.

21.1 Legacy Series / Archives for older Versions
July 09, 2021, 09:29:04 AM
It seems I can only find the latest version of OPNSense on the site. Do you maintain GitHub or similar to download older versions? The latest version 21.1.8 broke my network, and I need it in the morning, so would like to simply wipe the unit and install the previous version that worked.

I just upgraded to the latest version, and now none of the google services will load, no Microsoft services... meaning no windows update, either.
I disabled web proxy, C-ICAP, ClamAV, and Intrusion detection. I get errors saying "can't connect" and "Security issues with site"
I verified it's the firewall by connecting to a different access point in front of the OPNSense appliance.
