thank you littlepepper, not pretty sure which hypervisor Oracle Cloud is using in his infrastructure.
The vm is a linux os based. i will sure take a look at the topic you suggest.

Thanks Xerox, the ips is already disabled but the problems still remains.
if i totally exclude opnsense firewall, and i put the target vm in a "dmz zone" i have no problems with the file transfer and i can utilize all the bandwith.

Hello there,
my name is Andrea and i'm writing from Italy.
I have a problem that I can't solve and I thought I'd write here on the forum.
I am trying to copy large files from the internet to a private cloud network, where I have installed a virtual machine with opnsense acting as a firewall.
Even if the cloud's network interface is set to 1gbit, somehow the firewall reduces my bandwidth a lot and I can't go beyond 100mbit.
Currently the firewall rules are set to correctly accept incoming connections from the desired address.
In the network interface settings on opnsense, the configurations seem to be correct, and is now set to: 1000baseT <full-duplex>.
I can't figure out what I'm wrong and if there is any other configuration I need to do, (command line?), which now eludes me.
Has anyone experienced similar slowness issues?
