I was unable to upgrade from 25.1 as within a few minutes/ within an hour of upgrading (or full install from image) the GUI would bug out / crash often followed by a total unresponsive crash / freeze. I tried multiple installs with the same result and was able to reinstall 25.1 and run again with no issues.

After trying various things unsuccessfully I have done a full 25.7 reinstall and disabled the "Traffic graph" on the Dashboard - my router now been running fine for 20 hours. I still have the CPU graph running on the Dashboard.

Still early to say conclusively, but evidence suggests that in my case the Traffic graph was causing system crashes, no idea why.

My OPNsense box is : CWWK Intel N305, Alder lake i3

I am unable to upgrade to 25.7, it very quickly becomes unstable and crashes. I am have made several attempts by doing a full reinstall and uploading my config.xml and now need to try something different before trying again !

I am also not very familiar with FreeBSD, I would be very grateful for advice on suggested changes, here are the outputs for my router :

Quoteroot@opnsense:~ # sysctl machdep.bootmethod
machdep.bootmethod: UEFI

Any advice would be most appreciated, I have reinstalled 25.1 and my router is running well for now now but I am unable to upgrade

25.7 Series / Re: Update Failed With This Error
July 28, 2025, 10:15:53 AM
Hi,

I have been running OPNsense on a (Chinese) CWWK micro PC Intel N305 for a about a year with zero issues.

When I upgraded to 25.1.12 (and subsequently also direct to 25.7 from img) my router crashes at a random but fairly short time from successful installation. I have made 3 attempts so far, so before I try again I need to change something.

I wasn't able to get log files but I did manage to submit a couple of crash reports and before reinstalling 25.1 from an image (still runs flawlessly).

CORRECTION : My installation appears to include the plugin : os-cpu-microcode-intel v1.1 when it updates to 25.1.12 but it is not installed in 25.1

Unsure how to proceed, advice appreciated
