can u please tellme where are the managed files for squid, ill try to manipulate , & please help me with the include process as well  :-X :-X :-[ :'( :'( :'(

I made a change on my  --- >  /usr/local/squid/squid.conf

basically changed :

access_log /var/log/squid/access.log squid   ---- >    access_log /var/log/squid/access.log combined

did this Just To Get squid Logs in a different format then UNIX time format, & to get a little verbose detail.

and restarted squid, every thing works fine, logs in access.logs & on webUI shown correctly...

REAL problem - when i reboot opnsense. the earlier changed reset to defaults. means

access_log /var/log/squid/access.log combined ----> access_log /var/log/squid/access.log squid

No more verbose logs :'( 

NOTE - me not using live CD, installed the opnsense using OPNsense17.1.iso & removed the fking CDROM , Current Firmware 17.1.3, latest i believe

Some1 Please Help, Is there anyway i can map captive portal USERNAME with TRANSPARENT HTTP/HTTPS proxy logs. Instead of IP Address in proxy access log i want username as well or just username

+1 i want the same :'( u can map with users , goto > web proxy > administration > Forward Proxy >> Authentication Setting. There You can select  Authentication method as Local Database, but the problem is it does'nt work with captive portal or Transparent proxy

Attached two screenshots,
1> it stuck at squid. this only happens when i run captive portal on transparent proxy
2> Logs specify this, tried with ACL's bt no luck, same log.

ON SINGLE LAN INTERFACE

1> [LAN] Web Transparent Proxy  (HTTP/HTTPS)     + NO NATING rules
                                                                                               +  SSL Domain/IP only
                                                                                               + Enable SSL mode
                                                                                               + Enable Transparent HTTP proxy

2> [LAN] Captive Portal - [ Default ] =           + Allowed addresses- 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
                                                                             + Checked - HTTP/HTTPS Transparent.
Else Everything Default

EveryThing Works Fine & Awesome, I Can Login Using LOCAL DATABASE & access internet. http/https, both.....

But When I Restart. im not able to access LAN interface WEBUI, + Captive Portal :'( no internet on client side. please guide

can some1 please tell me how to work with https with captive portal... with transparent ssl proxy captive portal seems not to work

no man , earlier it was redirecting to https website & http websites like distrowatch on CUSTOM & DEFAULT (none) Template . now me manually have to redirect :'( on default template none as well.

ok the problem is solved of using CAPTIVE PORTAL with TRANSPARENT proxy, thanks man,

but somehow im stuck with a new problem :"(

New Problem :
i open distrowatch.com >> redirected to portal >> login >> then im stuck on logout screen, the internet is working, bt it does'nt redirect me to distrowatch. com . i have to manually open another tab & then go to distrowatch.com :'( any idea

the ANS 1) option looks sensible, without NAT setting, ill try and let u know thanks.

AIM - I just want my users to have restriction to certain website like social networking, porn, etc etc (i have blacklist)

The Real Problem -

1> if i enable WEB PROXY [Default, no settings], & then goto captive portal & check the boxes to use transparent proxy (http/https), the captive portal stops working - no redirection, manual redirection lets to no internet working after login.

2> if i enable WEB PROXY [With Transparent Mode Setting USING OFFICIAL GUIDE] the portal becomes unstable , even i cannot login to LAN using WEBUI, it keeps on scanning. bt I can ssh.
