Thanks bartjsmit for your reply, but I just solved the problem.
I followed the advice from Fitch at IRC #opnsense: Install OPNsense 16.7 en then upgrade it.

About the 32-bits image... I'm quite sure I did, but now you are asking....
Anyway , it is solved.

Thanks Fitch and bartjsmit!

OPNsense 17.1 hangs during first boot after fresh install.

Hello,

A new user here. I am really happy with the release of OPNsense 17.1.
I like the features, the security and the well documented website!

I just downloaded and installed OPNsense 17.1. The installation went smoothly but the system hangs during the first boot.
" Loading configuration ... done. Starting device manager ...sis0: link state changed to UP."

As this is my first introduction to *BSD (coming from GNU/Linux, but looking forward to learn new things) I am used to do diagnostics with Linux, so I booted a GNU/Linux Live-image.
With # ifconfig -a  I saw that one of two the NIC's was not recognized. I changed the NIC for another one.
Now OPNsense hangs again during boot.
After the " Starting device manager ...sis0: link state changed to UP", it says " x10: link state changed to DOWN".

My system specs:

If you need more info please let me know.
As mentioned this is my first OPNsense/*BSD experience.
I'm used to the (virtual) terminal in GNU/Linux and the Smoothwall-firewall. Now it' s time to learn new things.
I am looking forward to it!.

Any help is much appreciated!
