Sorry,  I am a bit lost.  This is my current setup,  Serial console access was working in 22.7.

[HP T740 USB type A port ]---[USB A to Serial DB9 adapter] --- Null Modem cable ---Serial port [Windows laptop]

Should I check the USB Serial port option?

I checked the HP T740, I don't find a way to disable the Legacy UART.

Is the serial console the "Primary Console" under System -> Settings -> Administration?

In 22.7.x   I had

Console driver checked
Primary Console EFI Console
Secondary Console Serial Console
USB-base Serial checked

After upgrade to 23.1,  it stuck at EFI framebuffer information.  I turn off the secondary console serial console.  I am able to boot up now.

But I lost the serial console access.

what is renew/rebind intervals?

I just check again on /var/db/dhclient.leases file.  DHCP lease time is 600.  False alarm.  sorry..

Since updated to 23.1 Under system: Log files: General, it shows a new log entire every 5 minutes.

I just double check again on /var/db/dhclient.leases file,  the option dhcp-lease-time is 600.   I am sorry to waste everyone time...

P.S.  I don't have unbound config yet.. 

I have a HP T740, I used a USB serial port to enable serial console to opnsense.  Since I upgraded to 23.1.  The serial console does not work anymore.  Please show me how to troubleshoot it.

[2/4/2023 update]   I reinstall 23.1 and restore my config.  The USB serial port on the T740 is working again...

Thanks for the reply..  There are few tunables.  No additional kernel modules added. 

I rebuilt using the 22.7 VGA image USB image and restored my backup config.  It booted up with 22.7.  After upgraded to 22.7.9 from the first reboot, it stucks at EFI frame boot.

My other attempt

I tried to upgrade back to 22.7.8 under system -> firmware -> setting -> flavour -> others -> 22.7/MINT/22.7.8/OpenSSL.  But it upgraded to 22.7.7 and it locks up at EFI-Framebuffer as well.

This is a HP t740 thin client with the latest BIOS from HP.  I reinstalled with the 22.7 VGA image multiple time already.   It will boot up fine with 22.7.  After upgrade to 22.7.9 during the first reboot.  It  will just freeze at the EFI framebuffer.

Hi,

Upgraded from 22.7.8 to 22.7.9 and the firewall is stuck during bootup right after EFI framebuffer. 

Please help..

Reinstall 22.7
setup with WAN connectivity only and upgrad to 22.7.9.
reboot and restore backup config, reload the additional packages.
