Title: APCUPSD network client configuration
Post by: openletter on April 29, 2018, 07:24:35 pm
I have OPNsense behind a pf***** gateway and the gateway uses an APC UPS that NUT does not have a driver for, so I use the APUPSD plugin instead.

I had first tried to install NUT to OPNsense, but couldn't figure out how to get the net client option to function properly and I wasn't sure how good an idea it was to have NUT monitoring APCUPSD on the gateway device anyway, so I installed APCUPSD to OPNsense.

However, I cannot find where I am supposed to configure APCUPSD from in the command line.

Additionally, while tooling round in OPNsense command line, I noticed that even though I uninstalled NUT in GUI, I see in /etc/rc.conf.d/nut nut_enable="YES" and in /etc/rec.conf.d/nut_upsmon unt_upsmon_enable="YES". Does this mean that NUT was not completely uninstalled?

As a side note, my *nix experience dictates that anything I actually care about *must* run behind a UPS, and if it is running while I am not home, then it *must* be able to shut down in the event of a power outage.

Hi,

the NUT plugin is currently under development, some things are not thoroughly tested.
I can't speak for apcupsd but for nut all is under /usr/local/etc/nut so I assume for apcupsd it should be similar.
