Post by: hirschferkel on March 19, 2018, 04:34:38 pm
This is still an issue in 18.1.3
Are there any ideas, how to solve this kernel stuck beacon issue?

Code: [Select]
kernel       ath0: stuck beacon; resetting (bmiss count 4)
kernel       ath0: stuck beacon; resetting (bmiss count 4)
kernel       ath0: stuck beacon; resetting (bmiss count 4)
kernel       ath0: stuck beacon; resetting (bmiss count 4)
kernel       ath0: stuck beacon; resetting (bmiss count 4)
kernel       ath0: bb hang detected (0x4)

Yes, there are a few FreeBSD tickets where you can rattle some chains:

https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=stuck%20beacon

We as in OPNsense cannot fix this driver for several reasons including: difference in project focus, lack of wireless device driver expertise, general concerns over wifi stack quality in FreeBSD.
