Title: Fetching base-17.1-amd64.obsolete takes extremely long
Post by: mherbst on February 01, 2017, 09:19:54 am
I have started the update from the latest version 16.7. to 17.1. Since more than 30 min. I see only the message "Fetching base-17.1.-amd64.obsolete" and lots of dots are painted on the screen (> 20 rows).
Is it normal that it takes so long to fetch this package?

No, it shouldn't. Obviously depends on your connection speed, but 30 minutes sounds abormal.
Which mirror are you using?

Our connection is quite fast and normally i can download > 1 GB in this time. I don't know exactly the mirror because we use the default mirror.

openSense run on a rackmount system from Deciso, so it came pre-configured.

BTW: it is now running for more than an our and I think I will stop it.

Sounds like a good idea. It will probably load normally when you try again.
