Title: os-ddclient: no updated hostname entries for dual-stack IPv4 / IPv6
Post by: guest34985 on December 21, 2022, 01:59:13 PM
Hi everyone,

I just upgraded to OPNSense 22.7.10 hoping the hostname problem on dual-stack internet connections would be solved. But I still don't see updates for A and AAAA records for the identical hostname being updated. If IPv6 is configured there is just IPv6 AAAA DNS updates.

Maybe I misinterpreted the changelog in regards to the os-ddclient, but at least in my case this specific problem still exists ...

Anyway, thanks for the great work that you guys put into such a great system, much appreciated!

Confirmed.

I use dns.he.net

I was using 2 addresses - one A and the other AAAA.

AAAA is updating correctly, while A stopped working.

Sounds coincidental. The address parsing for compressed IPv6 was fixed so now it's properly recognised. That's all.

Cheers,
Franco

This works for me:
