Fanless Solution for greenhouse deployment
« on: April 23, 2019, 06:53:15 am »
Looking to build a solution similar to what I have done with pfSense in the past.

https://www.supermicro.com/products/system/Box_PC/SYS-E50-9AP.cfm

This box is IP51 rated.

Looking to add GPS for NTP and optional Cellular failover.

Does anyone have any info on compatible USB GPS antennas?

Also any experience with adding Cellular Mini-PCIe to OPNsense?

We have tested a couple of miniPCIe LTE cards some time ago, you can find them listed here: https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/mobile_wan.html

In general if FreeBSD/HardenedBSD supports a card then it will most likely work under OPNsense too.

Thank you.  Anyone try GPS?  I remember with pfsense there were issues with the USB devices so I ended up using a cellular card that had GPS and attached a GPS antenna.  Hoping someone has had experience with GPS antenna.
