Sensei - bandwidth issue

Hello everyone,

Just installed Sensei and noticed that it significantly reduced my overall bandwidth throughput while enabled (to the tune of 60-70% lower bandwidth  )  I am running on a HP T620 Plus thin client, AMD GX-420CA SOC (4 cores) with 16GB of RAM.  Issue was confirmed after disabling Sensei and re-running provider bandwidth test (Verizon FIOS 1Gbit connection).

Any thoughts?? I really like the level of detail Sensei provides, and I hope that this is something that can be resolved.  Thanks in advance!

The Sensei manual reads that you should have a proper CPU - like Intel i3 or i5 (see other threads on this forum).
AMD GX 420 sounds like a "weak" (not powerfull enough) CPU for embedded devices...

I will try with an i7 i have laying around. However I did not see the CPU pegged during testing either with sensei on or off.

Well, indeed mystery solved! I had a xeon machine with multiple NICs that did the trick. So indeed the CPU was the culprit. Thanks for the hint

My i5-5250u was holding up bandwidth in some speed tests with sensei installed but during under normal load with more connections going on it wasn't cutting it and was definitely throttling the download. I have been on a i5-6500 that hasnt' had an issue. I have a hp dl320e g8 v2  with a xeon e3-1220 v3 going in tomorrow once I get my drive caddies.

I ended up re-using an idle Dell T20 server with E3-1225 v3 @ 3.20GHz (4 cores) CPU. No problem handling 1gig at full throttle.  Albeit I only have one heavy user (me  ) seems to be holding up just fine where as the AMD GX 420 struggled under stress.  The AMD works just fine if you have < 350mbit bandwidth requirements.

Apologies for bumping a very old thread but I'm curious if your T620 was a 2GB or 4GB unit?
I'm looking at the GX-420GI processor which sounds, very slightly faster, but with 4GB  and only 250Mbit connection
