Aliases in Traffic shaper
« on: September 01, 2018, 06:26:45 pm »
Hi there,

I know it is not the first time opnsense community users asking about adding "Aliases in Traffic shaper" , and i had seen the replays for that request also this is a handy feature opnsense must have.

Pls consider to lookup the possibility for adding this feature for coming versions, opnsense really need it

Thanks for that great firewall and effort behind it

I'm tried also to add multiple destination ips like this : 192.168.180.10, 192.168.180.11 with comma separation
even the rule can't be saved, can't believable to every source or destination i must create a rule or ably entire subnet

It's really missing feature in this great firewall, and the most common feature in firewalls is traffic shaping

I don't miss appreciate the effort behind this great firewall, but when i'm googling about this i found a vote to add this feature but no enough interaction make it happened, but voting to add this feature isn't a good choice

any way i hope to fined any way to acheave this without the pain to add a rule ber host without getting advantage with aliases

Thanks for ur effort, or any advice

The API for the firewall aliases is almost ready, just recently enabled in the development version. With this it's going to be possible to sow traffic shaping and aliases together, but there was no immediate time frame for it other than shipping the release with the alias API in 1-2 months to lay the foundations.

Cheers,
Franco

Another topic i wana askin for to consider is, traffic shaping scheduler to enable or disable the shaping rules up on that schedule, that will be very handy feature
