Single Public WAN IP - Carp Setup
« on: July 30, 2018, 12:22:26 am »
Hello all,

I followed the instructions at https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/carp.html.

Everything works fine until i get to changing to manual NAT mode. The instructions say that when i switch to manual some rules should be auto created and to change the translation to the CARP VIP. When i change to manual everything disappears and i have to create all the rules from scratch. I have tried multiple combinations and can not get internet access unless i change my WAN Interface back to Inet IP and enable automatic outbound Nat.

Also on the Wan interface config when i switch it to a private IP do i leave the upstream GW as my Inet GW?

I have not installed FW2 yet as i am trying to get all the settings correct with full internet access then i will turn second fw on and sync.

Setup:

FW 1

WAN 172.18.0.10/23  VIP Public IP
Lan 192.168.1.10/24 VIP 192.168.1.254
PFSYNC 10.0.0.10
