802.11ac Wireless Support?
« on: January 03, 2018, 06:40:01 am »
I realize that OPNsense can't do anything until stable FreeBSD drivers are available, but once they are, does the OPNsense project regard it as a priority to implement 802.11ac support once FreeBSD enables it?

I think once FreeBSD is capable of 802.11ac it's not much harder than adding it as an option to the GUI.
And if it is more effort, I think they will still implement it. You can always make feature requests here or via Github. The devs are quite active and open minded for proposals.

If the code was written well enough this should be offered automatically in the GUI. I'm not saying it is because I don't know the wireless code very well, and if it isn't the ticket is a good start to get it fixed as mentioned by nasq. :)

Cheers,
