Interfaces not available for LAGG
« on: August 10, 2017, 07:52:50 pm »
At Interfaces: Other Types: LAGG, when I go to Parent interface, the drop down list is empty. Currently only 2 of the 6 NICs are assigned. Shouldn't the other 4 show up as choices here?

Since the interfaces become part of a larger interface to be assigned, you cannot use currently assigned interfaces. It only works one way. :)

I have 2 interfaces assigned. I have 4 interfaces unassigned. I would like to assign the 4 interfaces to 2 LAGG interfaces. Yet they are not on the menu. No interface is shown as available on the LAGG assignment screen.

Shouldn't the 4 unassigned interfaces show as available on the LAGG screen? They don't. How do I fix that?

Okay, now I see that "assigned" is an ambiguous term here. I was taking it to mean "active with an IP assigned to the interface." Your meaning in this context is instead what's on the "Assignments" menu, where it's the mapping of MAC addresses to names on two levels, e.g. "igb0" and "LAN."

Correct, sorry for the confusion: they must not be assigned as interfaces in the context of OPNsense

Cheers,
