Xen(Server) offloading fixed?
« on: January 06, 2017, 06:01:04 pm »
Since a lot of us ran into that problem (which is FreeBSD 10 based) with the paravirtualized network drivers - which also affects KVM, if I'm not wrong:

Does anyone know if that problem is fixed with the new FreeBSD 11 base?
It hase never been fixed with 10 and probably never will, so hope relies on 11 base.

Hi Christof,

Unfortunately not, see discussions here:

https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues?q=is%3Aissue+xen+is%3Aclosed

What we did, however, was disable all hardware offloading features in the default config so people don't go chasing issues in between OPNsense and their Virtualisation on new installs.  This is for 17.1.

Cheers,
Franco
