guys,
just got it and liked it. I am actually looking for a web caching server (proxy) and with ONE NIC only. Means LAN only and no WAN port at all. Thus it will not be a transparent proxy but a caching. Normally using mikrotik I can do it. Thus I was hoping if I can do the same in here... any ideas from anywhere??

Now I can check update of the box using LAN only with gateway to LAN's default GW. But after configuring proxy in any other PC, PC does not respond.

By the way, I'm running it on VM (but who cares??)

Mishu~

Hi Mishu,

Welcome! VM is perfectly fine, people are using it successfully from home to enterprise users.

You can find our caching proxy How-To here: https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/proxy.html

Cheers,
Franco

I installed it... That is not my question. In the documentation, it's all about WAN+LAN with NAT. My question is different. I need to set it up with LAN only. one NIC ONE LAN.

I can't find any mention of "WAN" in the How-To for the non-transparent caching proxy:

https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/cachingproxy.html

But there are a few mentions of "LAN". :)
