[SOLVED] How to see packet latency, and loss
« on: February 08, 2016, 08:09:21 pm »
Hello, good gentlemen.

I've switched over from pfsense, and am trying to get my workflow back to normal. I host a minecraft server, and frequently have to troubleshoot poor connections. Sometimes my ISP is the culprit, sometimes not.
Would any of you happen to know how to open the packet latency/loss graph? Apparently RRD graphs are gone, and replaced by the "Health", which looks neat, but is missing the sole feature that I needed from the graphs in the first place. Am I just blind and missing the proper tab?

Thanks!

Hi,

The health feature uses the same rrd data underneath, the Quality tab should show your normal loss and delay statistics if gateway monitoring is enabled.

Well sir, I must be blind and crazy then, because all I see is:

Packets                 System               Traffic

And none of those show packet loss or latency.

Is there a way for me to upload a screenshot?

I think a lot of people use to post screenshots, but any other location you can link to should also work.
But, if it's not there... you probably don't have gateway monitoring enabled (check the mark "Disable Gateway Monitoring" on your gateway).

Ah, that did the trick. So, for anybody else with this problem, the solution is:

System/Gateways/All --> Edit button --> "Disable Gateway Monitoring"

Un-check that box. Remember to hit apply. And then all is well, packet quality shows up in the health section.

Thanks again, AdSchellevis!
