Quick rules from a smartphone?
« on: October 07, 2018, 10:22:40 am »
Hi all,
I've been using OPNSense for around 6 months on a little Chinese atom based pc with a usb Ethernet adaptor for the wan - works great.

I have children, and would like to be able to quickly and easily activate and deactivate various devices - Amazon fire TV, our shared computer, their tablets etc. I have been able to easily configure schedules, which is very useful, and I can log in and enable or disable rules, but would like a very easy way to quickly do this and also for my wife to do this. I was thinking that if rules could be turned on and off from the API, there might be something out there that could just make simple API calls to do this.
I had a look at the API documentation and could obviously see anything relating to rules, but I could have missed this.

Before I go any further, has anyone already tried this, or have a solution? I searched the forum and couldn't see anything. I believe some home routers now have this kind of thing in a companion app, though I don't have personal experience of it.

Thoughts?
Matt
