Hi,
I have just discovered that when you edit an Alias and change its name, the renaming does not happen in (outgoing) NAT rules, leaving them dangling.

Bug?

Thanks

I've noticed this behaviour too.
But when the rules are reloaded the new name of the alias should appera. Have you tried this?
Duck, Duck, Duck, Duck, Duck, Duck, Duck, Duck, Goose

@Franco: Yes, it looks a lot like this.
@JasMan: I'm not sure, the firewall has even been rebooted since I renamed the alias.

Ok, the fix is on hold for now because the alias pages are undergoing a major change for MVC/API support. It will be fixed in that capacity in an early 18.7.x, but not in the way that it is currently integrated unless somebody wants to propose a fix here via PR of course. :)

Cheers,
Franco

Thanks!
Regarding MVC/API, is there any doc for this? Even incomplete....
I am doing a POC with opnsense at the moment on a couple of boxes, and if it covers all my needs I will be implementing it on 80 sites.
So anything that will prevent me form having to create/maintain the same aliases over and over through the gui (which is nice) will be hugely appreciated.

Thanks again

@GaardenZwerch - You could just import the Aliases only from a known good config using the backup/restore feature. Would certainly save you having to re-enter them for each device.
OPNsense 24.7 - Qotom Q355G4 - ISP - Squirrel 1Gbps.
