Help setting up WAN failover with adguard

I am having trouble getting WAN failover setup and working.  I followed the instructions in the documentation with no luck.  I now have a gateway group setup with both interfaces, and everything works fine on the main wan.  When it goes down, internet still works but I have no DNS.  I had adguard plugin setup previously, so I think that may be the problem.
