Promiscuous mode enabled on WAN Interface
« on: March 19, 2023, 04:25:37 pm »
I am running Opnsense 23.1 on one of my firewall appliances. Whenever I make a serial connection through minicom, I get a message at the beginning before the login prompt:

Code: [Select]
igb1: LAN
igb0: WAN

login: igb0: promiscuous mode enabled

I checked both Suricata and my Interfaces' config. None of these sections have promiscuous mode enabled (i.e., the corresponding field is unchecked).  ???

Anybody knows what could be triggering this message and where I can disable promiscuous mode on the WAN interface through ssh or serial connection?
Thank you for your help!
