You should try to look at what exactly is not working. Other than the thread title suggests, the DNS resolution seems to work just fine...Are you using jumbo frames or does your ISP connection use VLANs or PPPoE? There are websites that do not use PMTU discovery, so they may fail when your MTU settings are wrong.
