Hi

Does anyone have a working config they could shave if they have managed to get OPNSense working with Vodafone UK broadband?

I cant for the life of me get it working, I have the PPPoE username and password .

If you're on Vodafone Cityfibre I believe it uses VLAN 911, if it is not Cityfibre and is via Openreach then there is no VLAN and it should just be a straightforward PPPoE connection as per the docs.

As you are are FTTC, assume it is straightforward PPPoE. What are you getting in the logs?

Just checking that this is a VDSL copper connection rather than a fibre to the premises?

Thanks , im set up as per the linked guide , but speaking to Vodafone they stated i need to use VLAN 101..

Ill have a read how I go about that.

From memory...

Go to Interface , Other Types, VLAN. Create a vlan with the VID you need.

Then Interface, Point-to-Point, Devices, add new device. Link type PPPoE, Use the above vlan for the Link interface. Complete with the rest of the PPoE auth details.

Then Interface , Assignments, create a WAN interface using the pppoe just created.

I also had the same problem. I am on the openreach network but just using the PPOE login details did not work for me. I did not get it to work with the VLAN 101. I was frustrated and hadn't touched my Pfsense router for 3 weeks. I want to give it a try again.
What docs is being referred to here?

I think you'll find it is all covered in the OPNsense documentation.

I went through it when I was adding an ISP connection over CityFibre, which also required using a vlan.
