I have monit setup to alert me if the load gets above 75% and when I loaded the web gui the cpu is at a constant 100%

OPNsense 23.7.3-amd64
FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE-p2
OpenSSL 1.1.1v 1 Aug 2023
CPU : Intel(R) Celeron(R) J4125 CPU @ 2.00GHz (4 cores, 4 threads)

Let's start with the basics. Under System->Diagnostics->Activity what is the top CPU consumption processes? Under normal circumstances this should be unbound with maybe 2% and l want to say php-cgi with another 1-3%.

This is what I am getting.

From the looks of it, there's some sort of problem with Zenarmor. Have you tried turning it off?

I even uninstalled the darn thing. no change

Reporting: Settings - reset RRD and Netflow data.

If you're on a low powered system such as an APU, want to use Zenarmor and don't use RRD/Netflow that much if at all -- consider turning it off.

much better thank you all.
This is my first opensource BareMetal box that's why I opted for a cheap one.
what's you all's recommendation for a decent box for home use . streaming and gaming with vlans setup for iots and home assistant, Proxmox ...

Check out the HW subforum for some more information, there's been quite a few threads there recently.

Minimum starting point would be a N5105. If buying from AliExpress I'd recommend the barebones options, get your RAM and SSD from Amazon
