I have a setup that is pretty simple.  I am using just opnsense as a router with zen for filtering.  No vpn or anything fansy.  My internet is roughly 1250/45 and i have 10 gig dual network card connected at 2.5 gig in and out.  My cpu is an I5-9400 and 16 gb ram with 500 gb pcie ssd.  I have been noticing that i am running 80 - 90 % ram usage recently.  I am wondering if i need to upgrade the ram to 32 gigs or upgrade the cpu to an i7-8700 that i have.  Here is an example of my server load under use.  I have about 50 devices with 5 users that covers my house with lots of gaming devices and smart devices.

Hi @zzup,

This looks like a pretty decent system.

I can't see how much in there in ARC memory; but I'm guessing High RAM usage might be due to ZFS ARC cache. When there's available memory, ZFS will want to use it for caching. If it sees that some neighbor processors might need extra memory, it should happily return back some of the ARC memory.

Arc size is about 5-6 gig of the 12 gig used. Just noticed this changed in recent patches as it used to only show 40% used and the arc separately. Did not think about it.  Glad the rest of the setup looks good. With a gamer family nice clean and fast internet is so nice.
