[SOLVED]Update 2 OPNsense 16.1.15-amd64 - base-16.1.14-amd64.obsolete: failed

All,

I just updated my firewall .. at the end of the upgade I got the following message:

Fetching kernel-16.1.14-amd64.txz: ........ done
Fetching base-16.1.14-amd64.txz: .......... done
Fetching base-16.1.14-amd64.obsolete: ... failed

Before starting the update .. it notified that is was going to reboot ...; that did not happen

please advise

Hi Wim,

Try to run again from the console, option 12.

So there the download and verification of 20 MB kernel + 40 MB base system went ok, but downloading a flat file for obsoleted files (a few KB) failed for some reason.

The console can tell you better what went wrong. And I do believe that starting with 16.1.15 the firmware upgrade window will tell you as well. That was an improvement that was made just then.

PS: Neither the kernel nor there base were upgraded here, so you ran into a safety net there, your install is fully, functional just not patched for the last bits.

It may also be your selected firmware mirror. Try (default) in case this keeps happening.
