After that I can select an upgrade

ie. from version 21.7.r_9 to 21.7.r1 - which I have tried twice... doing that I end up with 21.7.r_9 though....

Following the console I notice this:

No update is done - keeps me on 21.7.r_9

As with any upgrade the dev version will loop through the 21.7 upgrade until it is bumped to production state.

The dev version will never let you go to 21.7.r1 either, since this is the stable track...

In any case: you are already on the latest development version of the 21.7 prerelease.

Franco, now that 21.7.r2 is out, how do I upgrade from 21.7.r1 to r2? All my packages are upgraded already this time :)

Depending on your mirror there may be a short delay before 21.7.r2 is displayed. The minor updates have higher priority so you will see it instead of the bogus upgrade loop in the development version.

If you are already on 21.7.r1 (see status page) the update is like any other minor update.
