DEC690 - Hardware specifications?

(1/1)

Krek:
Hello,

I am coming from a Qotom with a Celeron J1900 (1.9 GHz, 8GB of RAM, 100GB of disk).
It has served me well for years but it does not support AES-NI so upgrades will get complicated in the future (they already are).

I am considering a DC690 because it would support a great Open-Source project and as a bonus, it is based in the European Union (and so do I).

However, I miss some details on the hardware specifications that I cannot find on the webshop.

* What is the actual processor model it is using? I understand that it is a quad-core 1.6 GHz AMD G-Series SOC but which generation is it? Also, it seems like the processor will be a small downgrade compared to my current J1900.
* What BIOS is it running? Please be Coreboot or Libreboot  ;)
* What is this Console port? Micro-HDMI?
It is for home-use and research (I am working in cyber-security). I plan to use it as firewall (home traffic), router, client-to-site VPN (very low traffic), site-to-site VPN (potentially) and IDS.

Thanks in advance.

According to https://shop.opnsense.com/dec600-series-opnsense-desktop-security-appliances/ the DEC690 is using the Netboard A10 Gen2 and a 4-core CPU with max frequency 1.6Ghz

Looking at https://www.deciso.com/netboard-a10-gen2/ it seems that's the Netboard A10 Gen2 --> CPU Model E --> AMD Embedded GX-416RA G-Series SOC (4x 1.65Ghz, L2 cache 2MB, 15W, No GPU) and it supports AES-NI

Thanks!
