I'm trying to create a VLAN with a DHCP server on but cant seem to get it working.

the steps i took:
1, create the VLAN under Interfaces -> Other
2, assign the interface, enable it and give it an IP
3, go to DHCP, enable the DHCP for the VLAN and give it an IP Pool

i'w made an SSID that i tagged with the VLAN in my AP to be able to test with my phone.... but it just stays at "Obtaining IP".

Was it something i missed? i cant seem to get an IP :/

EDIT: I have hybrid nat activated so there should be rules in place to allow access to the dhcp

You're sure the connection between AP, Switch and FW-interface is setup correctly?

Please make some screenshots of you configuration.

Connect you PC with the port on you FW an test if you can ping the firewall in that VLAN.
Maybe allow the ICMP traffic torwards that interface, if not done already.

oh god...well apparently my Aruba AP is able to mess with the VLAN settings of my Aruba switch :D so no... the VLAN wasnt configured well after opnsense :(

re-added the VLAN to the switch and AP and it was able to get an IP :)

Now all i need to figure out is how to route that vlan through a VPN, but i think i saw a guide for that :) thanks for the answer though :D

You're welcome and have fun with your OPNsense.
