[SOLVED] PPPoE connection problem - "IPCP: protocol was rejected by peer"
(1/1)
fenris:
Hi,
I'm trying to change my current DSL setup for a modem + OPNsense combination.
At the moment I have a Zyxel VMG3006-D70A as DSL modem and a FritzBox which creates the PPPoE connection.
I got the PPPoE authentication data from a tcpdump of the FritzBox.
If I try to get a PPPoE connection with OPNsense the authentication seems to work, but after that the connection gets dropped. I think it has something to do with these 4 lines in the ppps.log:
--- Code: ---Feb 22 10:22:14 OPNsense ppp: [wan_link0] LCP: rec'd Protocol Reject #3 (Opened)
Feb 22 10:22:14 OPNsense ppp: [wan_link0] LCP: protocol IPCP was rejected
Feb 22 10:22:14 OPNsense ppp: [wan] IPCP: protocol was rejected by peer
Feb 22 10:22:14 OPNsense ppp: [wan] IPCP: state change Req-Sent --> Stopped
--- End code ---
The whole log can be viewed here: https://pastebin.com/eMD3jiJx
Has anyone any tips for me, what I could try now or which setting I have overlooked.
Thanks.

Just for your interest. I got it running.
The problem was OPNsense not running with DS-lite.
After a short call to my ISP, I got my connection changed to Dual Stack and got everything running up in no time, with all the standard settings.
