FTP Proxy Howto does not work for me

(1/2) > >>

Wim post:
So i've followed the instructions multiple times, but is did not work for me.

The only difference that i can find is that is have an alias set up for my local ip for plex.
So maybe that's the problem i'm not sure though. This local ip i am using runs my plex server, pi-hole and ftp server.
locally i can acces the ftp server just fine, but when i try to use the ftp proxy it just wont connect. It will find the ip adress and port21 just fine but times out when trying to connect. (waiting for welcome message). trying to use passive mode does not help either.

So I hope its just something simple.

Can you please provide a brief description of your setup
along with the ftp proxy configuration?

Wim post:
sure  :)

my setup is as follows: fiber modem -> opnsensebox --> managed switch --> wifi AP
                                                                                                                     --> second wifi AP
                                                                                                                     --> Server for plex, pi-hole, proftpd
                                                                                                                     --> dvr with its own network/wifi for camera's

The only thing that i did prior to this with port forwarding is forwarding the port for plex, other than that nothing really.

here is how it looks now

sometimes i use a vpn on the server but not when i'm trying to connect to my ftp server or when using plex. so that is not the issue. plex port forward is working fine. my dns adres is also my server because pihole runs on it. dhcp comes from opnsense. firewalls are disabled on wifi AP's so only opnsense firewall could give an issue or my server firewall i'm not sure.

Zo this is kinda stupid   ::) when i was testing i tried to connect to my outside wan from whithin my lan. Not thinking about it. (Wifi on my phone was on) and I was just explaining to my brother that it wasn't working. As i go to show him it connects instantly. Because i was no langer connecties to nu Wi-Fi. My sincere apologies for my mistake.
