Hi all,

NetFlow e.g. flowd uses up to 90% of a cpu core all the time and when changing the listening interfaces the system freezes again completely (opnsense-patch 24dc2a82b is installed)...?

After Final 19.7 the 3 patches (https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/3587) are installed on several devices/VM and will be observed. On an APU1D (firmware v4.9.0.7) with 2 cores the difference of the CPU load to 19.1.x is really heavy.

This is expected due to the necessary rewrite. I think the box you have is not very powerful?

As a general rule we don't recommend local NetFlow (Insight), web proxy or intrusion detection on lower end hardware.

Hi all,

i've been testing ips in hyperscan mode, netflow, proxy and many other services on this APU1D dev board for years now. i can't support statements like small hardware as they're only supposed to be marketing effective or hiding programming errors. all this testing and new plugin fuss about twitter and co. has been added meanwhile. not to mention some forum statements.
in a real quality process, these problems have come to light. what goes wrong? i like to support you!

Python 2.7 -> 3 happened. We had to migrate the flowd reader code from scratch because it's unmaintained. All help is welcome to improve it.

Cheers,
