OPN sense does not recognize WAN

Dear All:

I am new on this forum.Ineed your help on following

I already installed 18.7 OPN sense.  and connected in the following way:

Modem-RouterADSL---->OPNSENSE(Dedicated Computer)-------> SWITCH to distribution to several devices

Modem- Router ADSL gives DHCP

I connect what i believe is WAN from router to OPNsense computer ( at least OPNsense recognizes it in that port of the Computer) Igb1. Problem is OPNsense does not report any IP address on this port. So I do not have internet connection. I don know how to solve this part

I connect other port of the OPN sense computer to switch on Igb 0 (Opnsense recognize it as LAN) wich Ibelieve is correct. I changed IP address to static one in my local area network and seems to be ok.

I am not able to have internet through this configuration. Router is provided internet correctly because I used another port os the router to connect another laptop and it works fine

Could someone give me a hand on this

I want OPNsnese only as firewall. I need to keep DHCP in my router

I can not go to the GUI because on the configuration described above no internet connection is available
