coming from pfSense pehaps a stupid qustion

Hey I have got set up my pfSense box but after read good abut this and the free ET PRO rules I think I will give it a go, but in pfsense I install  suricata but cant find that here are it just that there are build in ? .
also  I try too follow this guy https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=6893.0
but cant see any traffic really on it.
Also a stupid question I follow the guy and set filter to drop what are that for  ?
and when I then go too rules menu it show Showing 1 to 10 of 47505 entries but not all are enable. That of cores good if there don't need too but what are the reason for that when the guy start by select all ?

so what do I miss here I have lot more info when I run  suricata on pfSense
