Hyper-V with dynmic ram usage
« on: April 10, 2021, 07:45:41 pm »
Dear All,
I installed
OPNsense 21.1-amd64
FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p12-HBSD

on a Hyper-V based system. There I have choosen 8GB of dynamic ram.
But the OPNsense is using all the time 8GB despite the fact, that the Firewall only using 2-3GB.

Is there an option to activate dynamic ram usage?

Best regards,

Fox

Unfortunately I don't think FreeBSD supports dynamic memory within HyperV at the moment. This isn't an OPNsense issue directly, it's an upstream issue from the FreeBSD source that will need to get resolved before OPNsense could support it.
