To my knowledge APCupsd and NUT are completely separate software packages. Why are you trying to run both?

NUT includes the driver APCUPSD-Driver and it may tempt some users to use it.

I see very little benefit in using APCupsd, whether it is used on its own or with NUT. However, considering the NUT service fails to start when APCupsd is enabled, it doesn't make for a reliable environment

When using NUT and a driver other than APCUPSD-Driver, there are some settings you cannot apply to an APC UPS over the USB port like you can when using a serial port.

That said and having had to replace a UPS recently, modern APC UPS's have control panels where you can go in and adjust the settings - fiddly, but doable.

In relation to the problem you reported, it is unclear the USB ports on your OPNsense firewall are working.

hmm, hast Du mal probiert, ob es reicht den Packet Filter über die Services im Dashboard neu zu starten anstatt die Firewallregeln neu zu konfigurieren? Ist auch nur stochern im Nebel, aber wer weiss.

LAN uses Track WAN Interface for v6
I use ISC-DHCP for lan addresses and unbound for dns resolving

Between OPNsense 25.7.x and 26.1.x there have been big changes for both of those, so I suggest having a look at both of them :
- ISC DHCP Server got moved to a plug-in.
So if you are still using it then maybe that let's say "migration" borked something the developers don't yet know about ?!
- Track WAN Interface for IPv6 has gotten a new sibling so to speak called 'Identity Assosication' that's new and different, but does the same pretty much...

So I would suggest reading both the forum and https://docs.opnsense.org/ about these two pretty big changes and then decide what do do next.
Perhaps it's just a matter of configuring some existing settings again and saving them or maybe you decide to migrate to KEA or DNSmasqd anyway...

before i updated it, there was no apcupsd and BEFORE was LOGIN

That was a suggested fix for upstream port in FreeBSD. If this isn't in the default package installation on OPNsense, don't change it.

I would like to think that what is reported in the two issues is enough to dissuade you from using apcupsd.

I would advise you revert the change to the script and disable apcupsd and use NUT with the USBHID-Driver.

In relation to the problem you reported, it is unclear the USB ports on your OPNsense firewall are working. Perhaps an easy way to check this is to connect a USB keyboard, attach a screen to the display and see if keystrokes are reflected on the screen, maybe even log on to OPNsense.

That does not answer how you distribute the IPv6 on your LAN. You can do that via DHCPv6 or via SLAAC, with different daemons for each.

But FWIW, if your LAN loses its IPv6, then that seems to be the problem. You should set your LAN interface to "Identity assosication" instead of "Track Interface".

To some extend it's true, but then again this perfectly aligns with theme colouring because we're using the theme's success and danger bootstrap colours so the themes can be tweaked to match better.

FWIW, I made a small change here to use the button style instead of the alert style which mutes the colours a little and follows the theme's style on whether to use light or dark text+symbols on it:

Well actually I thought I did say: DHCP (so for v6 its DHCPv6 on WAN) and track interface on LAN

I don't get a v6 IP on my LAN interface after the v6 breaks and the ipv6 traffic on connected devices to the LAN interface doesn't work either

I use the same version of CrowdSec and it still works the same as in 26.1... I don't have any more CPU usage. I think since I updated to 26.7 I have less CPU usage overall. It works very, very well. 👌
