Confirming issues immediately after an upgrade to 26.7 as well

It seems to be partially working though, as some entries/mappings are being made. And now the "IP address" column is just showing "?" for all entries, instead of the local IP as in previous versions. Not sure if that could help point the finger at the actual issue

This is exactly what's happening to me, the IP address column is just ? and while it attempts to add entries to the firewall, uPnP is failing to do so.

I already had migrated my old firewall rules in 26.1 to the new rules set and all of my other rules are working as expected, the firewall seems fine, including my port 53 and 123 interception for the firewall own services.

So for now I just disabled the service until it is confirmed is fixed, but glad it wasn't just a me issue ;-)

I'm seeing the ? under IP as well, but my firewall DOES seem to be creating the maps. My plex server and my girlfriend's PC have both managed to create maps and I've verified the ports are indeed open. Do you have Source NAT configured for static port? I migrated that from the old Outbound NAT section on 26.1 before upgrading and things seem to be operating correctly, despite the visual glitch in the UPNP service page.

Sorry, let me clarify:

I'm already on 26.7 because I had proactively removed the microcode plugin before upgrading from 26.1.  I took a snapshot after the OS upgrade and before installing the microcode plugin again.  Let's call this snapshot X.  From this starting point I then did the following.

Attempt 1: Re-installed the microcode plugin (intel) from the 26.7 UI
-> console freeze on reboot; problem confirmed

Rolled back to snapshot X.

Attempt 2: Installed the plugin & manually upgraded the bootcode by copying /boot/loader.efi to /boot/efi/efi/boot/bootx64.efi and /boot/efi/efi/freebsd/loader.efi
-> console freeze on reboot; no change

Rolled back to snapshot X.  Confirmed system was again booting normally.

Attempt 3: Followed the steps for Intel in post #1 only (no bootcode upgrade)
-> console freeze on reboot; no change

So I've again rolled back to snapshot X and this is where I'm sitting currently.

If you completely remove the ucode update plugin, you still cannot upgrade?

Regarding my post #21, is there anything else I can try that would be useful here?

I'll give this a couple days before attempting to reinstall from 26.7 images.

Yes Proxmox now handles the microcode update.

Good, because the reason I mentioned it was the same as these posts :

...which in turn prevents a CPU microcode update in a VM for security reasons, so that is useless, if not even harmful.
If you want the upgrade, install "intel-microcode" under PVE and uninstall the OpnSense plugin.

You cannot apply CPU microcode updates from inside a VM at all.

Installing the plugin is nonsense for virtualised systems. The hypervisor host must do this.

IIRC that's one of the older models, but you can double check this @ https://gathering.tweakers.net/ in a topic called something like "Het Grote KPN Glasvezel Topic" or whatever it is these days :)

(reboot)

Glad I found this post, as I was having the exact same issue following an upgrade attempt that hung, the above command was successful at finishing the upgrade to 26.7 and a clean health check following.

- Remove the os-cpu-microcode-amd plugin.
- Perform the OPNsense upgrade.

Then either:

- Wait for 26.7.1 before reinstalling os-cpu-microcode-amd.
- Follow the steps I outlined here: https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=52441.0
- Upgrade your FreeBSD boot loader after upgrading to OPNsense 26.7.

Looks like a partial upgrade with base/kernel on 26.7 and packages still at 26.1.

Since FreeBSD renamed repositories they will pop up until the 26.7 core is installed.
