Hi Franco,

thank you very much for the reply.

DCO is running since 21st of January 2026 on our instance without such a crash.

I noticed with the update from 26.1.1 to 26.1.2 the IP assignment from the VPN was not reset like it is happening after a reboot of the OPNsense.
I just checked the logs and I would say the OpenVPN server have not been restarted during the update. Even so there was the update to OpenVPN 2.6.19.

I could imagine that this could cause such strange issues.

.local, many, many years ago was the official microsoft recommendation. And yes, apple decided to make part of their system. So .local is not ideal, but if everything else is setup correctly, including settings within apple computers, you should be OK. This is just a general comment, not related to the details of dnsmasq settings.

I'm using 26.1.2 also and it is there under Services->Dnsmasq DNS & DHCP->Hosts.

You cannot view this attachment.

Maybe you are using a broken theme?  Try one of the opensense official themes.

Yes, I tried. But it actually is a catch-22: Without the driver (which does not load because of the PCI ID) you cannot use the flash tool. And you need the flash tool to change the PCI ID. The only way to make it work it to use the standalone UEFI flat tool aqflash.efi.

Aquantia themselves once had these tools, but they discontinued it. The only way to get them is from Asus, because they had these chips on some motherboards. But their site was down over the weekend.

After all, the AQC107 uses much more power than the newer AQC113C and I will get one this week...

Thank you for your reply.
I found that only "Host" tab missing this trash button on the bottom right.
Other tabs like "DHCP ranges" "DHCP options" "DHCP boot" "DHCP tags" have this trash button on the bottom right.
Any ideas why?
I am using version 26.1.2.

No, we banned a spammer's IP when he was spamming.  Too bad many spammers appear to use VPNs.

We can unblock individual IP addresses but only as long as nobody spams on them.

Short answer:
Not sure. if 'Aliases Resolve Interval' was used for this type, then I would expect to see a log entry under Firewall: Log Files: General and I do not see an entry.

Long answer:

Alias Type = URL Table
- There is a Git just pushed to expose the interval for this Type in the GUI, and maybe others.

Firewall: Settings: Advanced: Miscellaneous: Aliases Resolve Interval
default (300s)
- This setting works for 'Host(s)' type and has been working for a long time.

Firewall: Log Files: General
- Shows entry that resolution was updated, but only for my 'Host(s)' entry

Firewall: Diagnostics: Aliases
- Shows full IPv6 address, with correct ISP prefix.

Alias Type = Dynamic IPv6 Host
- I'm hoping that since the word Dynamic is there, it is constructed the moment it is called by using the latest ISP prefix.
- But not sure where to go to confirm this.

I have been using this method for a couple of years. I remember testing it at first with pwsh commands and also I can do an Inspect, which shows states are created correctly. When I do a fresh install, my notes have a step to update the lower 64 bits. Then I am back in business.

Ja, einen praktischen Unterschied sollte es nicht machen. Mich würde nur interessieren wo die Fehlinformation herkommt, dass man 192.168.100.1/24 eintragen muss / soll. Aus der Doku jedenfalls nicht.
