Could be:

# opnsense-patch https://github.com/opnsense/core/commit/2db243f2ecf2

The patch versioning is new and perhaps has a rough edge left in the code.

26.1, 26,4 Series / Error · dhclient · unknown dhc...
Last post by ferdinandpc - Today at 01:57:16 PM
Hi, I've been getting this error message for a while now: Error · dhclient · unknown dhcp option value 0x5a. It appears during the renewal:
2026-07-06T13:36:44      Notice    dhclient dhclient-script: Creating resolv.conf
2026-07-06T13:36:44      Notice    dhclient dhclient-script: Reason RENEW on igc0_vlan832 executing
2026-07-06T13:36:44      Error     dhclient unknown dhcp option value 0x5a
My ISP is Orange Spain with VLAN configured and DHCP for the WAN. Any ideas on how to fix this?
I found some information suggesting to add option option-90 code 90 = string; to the config file, but I get this error:
2026-07-06T13:52:20 · Error · dhclient · ^
2026-07-06T13:52:20 · Error · dhclient · option
2026-07-06T13:52:20 · Error · dhclient · /var/etc/dhclient.igc0_vlan832.conf line 10: expecting a statement.
The error is on the line where I added the option.

26.1, 26,4 Series / Captive Portal - Update from 2...
Last post by Com_IT - Today at 01:39:08 PM
Hi,

- Update from 26.1.4 to 26.1.11 (is also when upgrading to 26.1.8)
- The captive portal is no longer working, because the redirection is not working
- When a new captive portal is created, there are the automatically generated firewall rules which you can see in Rules [new]:
  - Allow access from IF "902_CaPo_113" to "This firewall" port 9006
  - Allow access from IF "902_CaPo_113" to "This firewall" port 8006
  - Block access from IF "902_CaPo_113" to "! __captiveportal_zone_6" this is the "Default Captive Portal block rule (zone 6)"

  - Automatic Redirection is not done
  - When using a self-constructed https link to port 8006,
you arrive at the portal. And when the credentials are entered,
you get access to the configured destination.
  - When using https on port 8006, after authentication the redirection is in http and not in https,
you need to change the link to https to get access after all
  - Disabling the "Client roaming option" does not change anything

Anyone some ideas?

Kind regards

Last post by Wrigleys - Today at 01:16:55 PM
Hi Monviech,

For IPv4, I think so yes. I followed the official WireGuard Road Warrior Setup Guide and assigned an interface as mentioned in Step 4(a).

I expect that my WireGuard setup will no longer work without additional created Source NAT Rules, when Outbound NAT will be removed in future Releases.

All the best,
Wrigleys
#5
Did the automatic wireguard network outbound rule ever work? What I have seen is that most users created manual rules for that.

What kind of ppp interface is WAN cellular? A pppoe interface?

Doesn't look like the same problem? In your case, I'd guess a full filesystem, perhaps?

Cheers,

Will try it with a different mirror than the OPNsense Mirror in .nl (https) and report.

I'm having the same problem:
With the latest update from version 26.1.10 to 26.1.11, I'm having trouble installing base-26.1.11-amd64.txz. I suspect this isn't just happening to me, but to everyone else as well.

Maybe I'm getting a little too paranoid, but in this era of AI supply chain attacks and widespread discoveries of vulnerabilities in FreeBSD, I probably can't be too careful.
