Use whatever you want just make sure it's something better than messing around with Unbound who IMHO should not be bothered with this stuff and should be just talking to the Root DNS Servers for you ;)

Since they make you sign some document in which you agree that they can throw you into Guantanamo for whatever reason (or none...) they wish at any time as long as you are there my plans to ever go there went from maybe to NEVER !!!

Click on "Inspect" to view them. The new and the old rule interface simply display them, since they cannot be changed by the user, anyway.

There is nothing "old" or "new" about the rules. These are simply two different UIs to the very same subsystem. The old one going to be removed, eventually.

It's old but not that old. :) It's an MS-7380.

But it was/still is one of the most beautiful motherboards ever made! :)

The NIC is an ordinary RTL8211BL but oddly they still use nVidia Boot Agent (probably because it's in their firmware anyway, as the entire chip set is nVidia). Probably that was grafted on and is the reason why it doesn't work with the standard settings.

That's one of those half this/half that constructions that use to be popular in the past.

I can't remember anymore what the exact details were, but I think your PHY part is probably made by Nvidia and the MAC part is RealTek.
Something like that anyway...

However, every MoBo since the early 2000s has had onboard sound and NIC, except industrial and server boards of course, so that by itself doesn't seem to be an indication of age?

I only mentioned that to check if it's a "Luxury" model or one of the cheaper models which did not have all the Nvidia features like the special Soundcard at the time and in this case also the NIC is not 100% Nvidia :)

Of course this is marketing SPAM. The suggestive / demanding phrasing of the title, the full listing of the product to be advertised which happens to be the only thing they actually seem to know, obviously no searching being done since otherwise the other "Do you use AI yet????" thread would have been found, plus the common claims "Oh your product is great" to make a nice impression, coupled with a new account that uses an avatar that would fit a p0rn site but not this one, suggesting a female user in order to exploit the expectably male-dominated community in order to generate interest and get more leeway. The other post also is only "spreading the name" while seemingly voicing doubts in order to blend in with the common AI skepticism while taking neither side (contrary to what a real user would do). I bet that an image search would find that exact same avatar in at least a dozen dating profiles on various platforms.
The only thing these marketers actually excel at is abusing human weaknesses and exploiting them.

Dear people,

after migrating "Rules" to "Rules[new]" within OPNsense 26.1.5
I was looking for those very helpful basic rules like

.sshlockout
.allow access to DHCP server
.Default deny / state violation rule
etc.

only to find them within "Rules" (old rules) in LAN, WAN, etc.

I saw here, that these rules should have been ported to "Rules [new]".

The official documentation does not mention automatically generated within Rules [new],
only within Rules (4.)

Therefore I'm worried, that as soon as Rules are removed, this will also remove the Basic, important rulesets all along within LAN and WAN.

What has to be done now?
Am I missing something?
