If you're not able to read and understand release notes before updating critical components, OPNsense may not be the correct solution for you. Consider switching to a consumer product.

Obviously, I can't read or understand what I'm not being presented with.  It also matters what the presentation is like.

When I look at the statistics and it says 'cleared: 1970-01-01T01:00:02', what does that mean?

It means it was cleared before time synchronization took place. 1970-01-01 is the beginning of Unix time.

That's kinda what I thought.

So how do I find out how many times a PPPoE connection was reset during a given period of time?

I'd start with [pciconf -lv | grep -B3 "network"] (enclosed in brackets to avoid confusion with quotes). What's listed?

Aborts at 109/303 then fails with a missing file that should be installed via core package?

Looks pretty strange, but we can possibly safeguard this a little, but not much.  The disk state may still be inconsistent (now or in the next update).

Hi Franco,

Are these "Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class "" not found" type of errors a software or hardware type of errors? I'm getting a similar error (My Thread) but for a different file instead, although, the installation progressed just fine, I'm wondering if my drive is dying again or this was one off software error. Not to hijack this thread, but I would appreciate your input in my thread.

Is there a step by step guide on how to install the drivers for a mini computer that didn't detect any drivers, I believe its a RealTek NIC, I been looking and looking and I can't find a way to install it, I am a Windows guy and I have no experience using the Command Line shell but I can follow instructions.

What if you connect a computer to it directly?

Do you have internet access through the router?

The WAN IP is private and the IP on the ISP is private that I am trying to ping. I have also tried to ping the ISP's public IP but as expected no luck. I have tried to ping the ISP router from OPNsense with no luck.

Hi,

I was updating OPNsense to its latest version before doing the major upgrade to the latest release and somewhere during all the minor updates, I received the errors listed below. I then did the big major upgrade to the latest version of OPNsense and haven't got any similar errors during that upgrade.

I'm posting here as I'm not sure what to think about the errors. I had similar issues around January of this year and replacing mSATA drive solved the issue and the errors were gone until now, a time where I decided to install minor updates. I had the new mSATA drive for around 7 and a half months and I'm getting error issues again. Could it be that the mSATA drive has the issues again, firewall box killing my drives or this error being a random one and there is nothing to worry about? Technically speaking, I never had SSD with such a low lifespan before and I doubt that OPNsense is killing my drives.

Any thoughts on it and what I should do next?

They will work but you cannot edit them, unless you use the legacy rules plugin. Eventually in some future version that plugin will go away. So why not migrate now? The new system is much better with all rules in a single table and selectable views.
