I haven't been seeing opnsense do that though. It seems to wait until the 85% mark before attempting renewal.

Thanks for the reference. I'm pretty sure my ISP's hardware *is* an issue, yes. Thing is, as I said, other devices and OSes are able to do a much better job at connecting and keeping the lease up, and there's no reason for opnsense to be more fragile.

Last post by Tuckie - Today at 04:44:40 PMI was having the same issue, and for whatever reason I had to create a NAT rule to get things working on the WAN side. I didn't even have it auto create another firewall rule, so I know it wasn't just that.

Right. Is there any system on earth that doesn't run 'other daemons or processes' than ARC? :D
Anyway, from the graphs, yes I can see that ARC tops out once it gets to 1GB free, so it is behaving as documented.

the thing is I imported the firewall settings from an older "silbling" OPNsense where these settings worked (let traffic pass)
so the settings that worked before stopped working silently (was a hell to figure out the reason). Don't think that's how it should be (esp. if you use these options for what they are intended to do)
