Solved!

Thanks to this article: https://www.zenarmor.com/docs/network-security-tutorials/how-to-configure-opnsense-nat#how-to-configure-port-forwarding-for-web-services

My problem was that each rule should have been 'any' in the source address and 'PrimaryWAN address' in the destination address.

Did checks include the browser console log? I have no particular suggestion, just checking on the territory covered for location of the error.

Hi.

I've been using opnsense for over a year now, but recently updated to 25.1, and now I can't access the dashboard page.  Everything else still works perfectly, except for the dashboard.  I tried reinstalling, and it was working, however, today when I went to access it to check something, I was back to the error "Unexpected error, check log for details"

I've checked each of the logs, and can't see anything related to the error that I'm getting.  I'm really not sure where to go from here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=45652.msg229064#msg229064

That fixed it for me on Version 138.0.7204.96 (Official Build, ungoogled-chromium), though weird that it used to work with it enabled until about a week or so ago.

Quote from: brett.merrick on February 12, 2025, 01:31:33 AMThis seems to be related to having experimental features enabled in chrome or its derivatives.

Go to chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features and click Disable.

Quote from: Patrick M. Hausen on April 16, 2025, 08:29:10 PMWhy would anyone enable "experimental web platform features"? Don't tell me that's (enabled) the default? Wiiilmaaa ...!

OTA flashing my BlueRetro controllers via Bluetooth. I manually enabled it a few years back specifically for this feature.

Thanks, Patient0

Yeah, turns out the computer is intel-based but it's an old model (the AMI BIOS is date 2016) that isn't supported anymore so I doubt I'm going to waste any more time on it. It only has 2 GB of RAM (non upgradeable) and at one point I got a warning message that opnS wants more than that... and I'm not entirely sure I'm getting the same results every time I try e.g. rebooting to get to the point where I could potentially run those commands you suggested. It also gives off a disconcerting "something's running a bit hot" smell so maybe it's time to look for another machine to run it on.

Thanks for your time 🌞

Oh PS I did take a picture of the screen - even cropped it to remove background, and in my mind I had posted it - but apparently not. So enjoy 😝

Development and Code Review / Re: OpnSense 25.1 building fro...

So after the fresh installation I carried out the following steps:
mkdir /home/opnsense
pkg install git
cd /home/opnsense/
git clone https://github.com/opnsense/tools
cd tools/
env ROOTDIR=/home/opnsense make update
env ROOTDIR=/home/opnsense make dvd

and always get the same error message as you.

I then updated the repo with "... make update". I then get the following message:

Deinstallation has been requested for the following 1 packages (of 0 packages in the universe):

Installed packages to be REMOVED:
net-snmp: 5.9.4_6,1

the most recent version of pkg-1.19.2_5 is already installed

Stop.
make: stopped in /home/opnsense/tools

Could it be that the "plugins" step is defective?
I get the same message for the "plugins", "core", 'distribution' and "dvd" steps.

Where exactly am I making the mistake in creating an ISO?

25.1, 25.4 Production Series / Re: LibreQoS
Last post by bbin - July 12, 2025, 09:52:04 PM
Dave posted several times in the past here, on reddit, and on the FreeBSD and OpenBSD mailing lists. LibreQoS is built on Ubuntu Linux and utilizes CAKE. CAKE was never ported to ipfw (or pf) in FreeBSD or OpenBSD. In theory if CAKE were implemented into BSD the Python and rust code in LibreQoS could be refactored for opnsense, but the level of effort required for that is way beyond me.

For now opnsense offers PIE and fq_codel for shaping.
