Also,if I plug the ASUS router into my main LAN (igc1), it grabs internet instantly. But when plugged into igc2 (which I added as an interface in the GUI), it won't pass internet.

Not sure. It seems to me that dedicated loopback interfaces are still the best option to get dynamic prefixes into NPT rules.
Maybe the person who requested using the WAN interface instead was not aware of this existing solution?

No, it's on its own separate network (Lan2 / 192.168.2.1 on port 3), while my PC is on the main LAN (192.168.1.1 on port 2). I haven't created a bridge. The ASUS router is plugged into port 3 via its WAN port, but it's stuck with a pink/orange light and won't pull an IP or pass internet traffic.
AlsI enabled Kea DHCPv4 on Lan2, but the ASUS router (plugged into port 3's WAN port) stays on a pink/orange light, won't take IP, and gets no internet. Is there something special needed for Kea DHCPv4 or firewall rules on a second physical LAN port?"

It looks like your packages updated successfully, but the base and kernel are still reporting 26.1.7, which suggests the firmware update didn't complete because of the timeout while downloading base-26.1.11. I would try running the update again when the mirrors are less busy and see if the audit reports the correct versions afterward.

26.7 Series / Can't find Speedtest

I use the os-speedtest-community plugin from mimugmail repository.  I am setting up a new firewall with v26.7, and I cannot find it in the plugins list.  It's alive and working on my older firewall that I upgraded to v26.7 with speedtest already installed.  Thoughts?

Potential bug report (?)

I upgraded a second, remote firewall to 26.7.1.  Before the upgrade it was on 26.7 with updated bootcode and with the os-cpu-microcode-intel plugin installed from the UI.  I had done that the prior day.  After the upgrade it received new microcode packages that were released today, but now it's not applying the microcode update on boot.

This port includes an RC script, which is one of two methods to update
the CPU microcode on a FreeBSD system.

1. Early loading.
   This method does not use the RC script included here.
   This is the preferred method, because it ensures that any CPU features
   added or removed by a microcode update are visible to the kernel by
   applying the update before the kernel performs CPU feature detection.

   To enable updates using early loading, add the following lines to
   /boot/loader.conf:

   cpu_microcode_load="YES"

   and the appropriate one of these lines:

   cpu_microcode_name="/boot/firmware/intel-ucode.bin"
   cpu_microcode_name="/boot/firmware/amd-ucode.bin"

   The microcode update will be loaded when the system is rebooted.

   AMD systems running FreeBSD prior to 2024-02-22 snapshot
   34467bd76 only support late loading.


2. Late loading.
   This method, which does use the RC script included here, is enabled by
   adding the following line to /etc/rc.conf:

   microcode_update_enable="YES"

   The microcode update is then applied upon reboot or when the microcode
   update service is run via:

   # service microcode_update start

   If the CPU requires a microcode update, a console message such as the
   following will appear:

   /usr/local/share/cpucontrol/m32306c3_00000022.fw: updating cpu /dev/cpuctl0 from rev 0x17 to rev 0x22... done.

for privacy reasons i leave the first block out (it is the same for both /128 and /64)
my v6 addresses on WAN are:

my v6 subnet my provider communicated to me via letter:
x:908:c21a:df00::1

the LAN IPv6 adress is:
x:908:c21a:df00:2a5:69ff:fe87:c47b/64
yes i do run my opnsense under truenas scale but the NICs are directly passed through to the VM and it is a dual NIC PCIe card with 2 intel i-226V NICs

is it still a "complication"? i don't see why that should be the case if the network hardware is a directly passed through and not virtualized part.
i do not have any network bridges either

the truenas host system does not use the PCIe card at all (passthrough so the truenas kernel doesn't load the modules for the card either)

Do you get the same listing when the UPS is plugged into each of the USB-A ports on the computer?

At this point it would be a good idea to test the UPS with different USB cables.

I did have another incident with the -igc kernel the other day (attempted to post about it with logs but it looks like it didn't go through?). There were no syslog events associated with anything other than the reboot after installing the kernel or the manual interface bounce.
