25.7, 25.10 Series / Urgent – no PPPOE connection p...
Last post by TheBob - Today at 10:12:23 AM

Hello everyone,
I have an urgent problem. I already posted about it some time ago at the following link. https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=43935

The error has now occurred again, and I can no longer get online.
The initial situation is that I restarted OPNsense over the weekend and then lost my internet connection.

I have tried the following steps:
- Restarting OPNsense
- Restarting the modem beforehand

When that didn't work, I

- reinstalled the firewall via USB stick, version 25.7
- then imported my last configuration via opnsense-importer
- after restarting, there is still no PPPOE connection.
- I also reinstalled the firewall a second time. The error still persists.

The following messages are displayed on the CLI during bootup:

generic_netmap_attach - Emulated adapter for pppoe0 created
generic_netmap_dtor - Emulated adapter for pppoe0 destroyed
generic_netmap_attach - Emulated adapter for pppoe0 created
generic_netmap_dtor - Emulated adapter for pppoe0 destroyed
generic_netmap_attach - Emulated adapter for pppoe0 created
generic_netmap_dtor - Emulated adapter for pppoe0 destroyed
generic_netmap_attach - Emulated adapter for pppoe0 created
generic_netmap_register - Emulated adapter for pppoe0 activated

Still no connection!
Thank you very much for any help or support.

Many thanks and best regards,
Bob

Das funktioniert mit PBR (Policy Based Routing)

Einfach in den Firewall Regeln eine Regel mit einem Quellnetz und einem Gateway festlegen.

Quote from: wirehire on November 06, 2025, 12:59:59 PMyou right, nothing upload are very good, from this sign. But the plugin matched the list and the blocklist  take from the blocklist the ip. So when the pluing can see that dangerous ip take to connect and block ist, it can also see and write to the plugin log, which port.

for  zero days often, the check in wave specific ports. So when you see that many ips scan for a specific port in a wave, you can take it different.

Where the question to the qfeed maintainer. Can your plugin  without upload to your instances, see which port the attacker probt to be connect ?

In the next release we've added the ports to the Events page. We also added an option to use Threat Lookup quickly by pressing a button next to the IP addresses which then redirects to the threat lookup function in the TIP.

Moin,

Sorry, my notifications are disabled in the forum, so I didn't see your message.
I run this patch with the following command...

patch --directory=/ -p0 < radiusv3.patch
However, it no longer works with the current firmware version.
I took the patch from another member and expanded it manually. It would be nice if these modifications were implemented permanently.

If you take the buy-once approach, the i5 would be my choice. Better to have the bigger/better engine for when the wheels get onto the autobahn. ;)

Do you have a temperature constraint? Because you have enough equipment to make the contribution from any single device... less significant.

I'm going to have to stick a window A/C in my equipment room (to supplement the main system), but I'm in Texas, where the average high is about 35C in the summer. But then power is $.15/kWh.
