You cannot create a VLAN on a bridge but you can create a bridge with VLANs as members.

So you want e.g. build a "switch" from ports igc0, igc1 and igc2. With VLANs 1 2 and 3.

Bridge 1: VLAN 1 on igc0, VLAN 1 on igc1, VLAN 1 on igc2
Bridge 2: VLAN 2 on igc0, VLAN 2 on igc1, VLAN 2 on igc2
Bridge 3: VLAN 3 on igc0, VLAN 3 on igc1, VLAN 3 on igc2

That's how it works in FreeBSD up until now. Changes coming in in FreeBSD 15 and up, possibly in OPNsense in a year or two. Until then - see above.

I bet you guessed me wrong.
I just want to have an option to add crl url attribute to my CA/Certs.
I dont like CRL, in my use case, but MS enforces it.

Dear all,

Title says it all.

Go to: Interfaces -> Devices -> VLAN
--> "Add"

The bridge is not available to be selected as Parent.

What the heck?!?

What can I do?

Kind regards,

As mentioned, I did not report my findings because they were inconclusive. I really do not know what is happening there and my use case is somewhat special. You can sure open a bug on Github if you like. Maybe someone who knows what and how hostwatch does its magic can identify the root cause and at least document in what ways this can go wrong.

My use case is finding devices by sending icmp pings every IP in specific subnets and watch for replies. With Hostwatch enabled, I seem to get answers for otherwise inactive IPs.

You can find all configuration defaults in this file.

The dnsmasq section is very simple :D

I think it's a hostwatch issue. I disabled the service completely, restartet the ONT once more and then tried a few restarts of the opnsense appliance. So far, PPPoE works as expected and gets an address after reboot. I'll keep it disabled for now.

Is this something that should be mentioned on the bugtracker etc.?

Yep the bridge port is definitely not excluded from LAN, all LAN peers are also on WAN in Neighbors - Automatic Discovery.
