There is no need to install it so you can try it

You can download standalone binaries from the PuTTY download site, it's listed under 'Alternative binary files': https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html

The termcap for xterm does colour by default.

Looking at PowerShell, it is designed to work with xterm - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-au/powershell/module/microsoft.powershell.core/about/about_ansi_terminals?view=powershell-7.6

Once you are in a shell issue the command

Code Select Expand

set  | grep ^term and it will list which termcap entry it's using

Code Select Expand

term    xterm.
If 'term' is set to something other than xterm, set the shell variable by issuing the command

set term=xterm this will also update the TERM environment variable. You can check it using

Code Select Expand

env | grep ^TERM
TERM=xterm

[Edit] I'm using /bin/tcsh as my shell - running as a regular user. Launched opnsense-shell and selected option 8. It starts a C shell.

It helps.

For both browsers after opening and closing edit mode the widgets resize.

When using page reload, via <F5>, the larger widget size does still occasionally appear. Less so for Firefox.

As @Franco recommended, you should absolutely try "opnsense-update -zkr 26.1.11-igc_aspm", because that should fix the hangup condition.

Yep, as mentioned, that's what I'm on now.

Seems to have been an ordering issue in rendered content vs resize trigger.

Yes, of course. That is because the delegated prefix (IA_PD) is not within the 'lan network'.

Delegating IPv6 prefixes is an "advanced" topic. The "default allow" rules for the first LAN are legacy convenience rules designed for the standard case only. Also, these rules exist ONLY for the first (V)LAN. You have to create suited rules for any additional (V)LAN by yourself - likewise when you create networks behind your LAN.

On Firefox - Edit, add widget, save, reload. On Brave - Edit, remove widget, save, reload. Neither changed the behavior.

I have HDPI screens which are scaled. To rules this out I reverted both to 100%. Doing shows that the System Information widget is doing the same thing. Though it is resizing within a few seconds, or so.

The Disk widget eventually resized on both browsers after ~ 10 minutes.

In post #30 you mention you installed a kernel, which kernel was that one? Between #30 and #31 you installed two kernels ??

From post #16 until this morning I was on the -iflib kernel mentioned in post #2 (post #30 quoted post #16). Prior to that I was on the stock kernel.

But the traffic is not logged against the firewall or does not seem to be present in any other interfaces since pcap on all of them turned out to be blank for 443 traffic

Check rules on other interfaces where the traffic from the 10.100.100.64/?? network comes in to OPNsense, then modify, or if missing, add applicable rules.

According to the documentation at https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/kea.html#prefix-delegation-ia-pd, the PC can't access the internet.
I checked and found that I need to change the firewall rule 'Default allow LAN IPv6 to any'. Change the 'Source' from 'lan network' to 'any'
