Very nice.

With the changes you need to make, does that help the default theme too?

Hmm, so we need to kick Franco harder then ;-)

Variations is nice, but I think it would be a bad thing to have too many variations.
I mean, it's a firewall after all...

Tried it, and like it. But I have three comments:

1: In the screenshot you can kinda see I have my mouse cursor in the CPU graph.
The balloon is very dark, but perhaps that is not a problem when it actually shows the percentage ;-)
Looks like that text is still in black and therefore barely visible?

2: I have a feeling that the lines separating the lighter en darker coloured bars is unnecessary in the dark theme.
If you look on the left side, the menu doesn't have the lines either, and that looks much more calm to the eyes.
In my opinion of course.

I would like to see a version that doesn't have those lines.

3: Not too fond on the blue buttons. I can understand the green, and red if not running, but perhaps in style with the OPNsense logo, that orange colour would suite better?
It's not bright, so I don't think it will distract too much.

Other then that, I love it.

Will do. Was more wandering if I was alone, or if others have witnessed this too.

Update: Nevermind. See it's already created. https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/2105

Driver wise, if the FreeBSD kernel has the support then it will work in OPNsense.
Since 18.1 will be build upon 11.1, it won't have the drivers.
Unless the developers are willing to include them like FreeNAS has, but that means tinkering with the kernel a lot.

18.1 Legacy Series / CPU graph percentage always in the middle
« on: January 16, 2018, 02:35:08 pm »
I've noticed this in 17.* too, and now in 18.1.r2 as well.
In several web browsers I noticed that when I hover the mouse cursor over the CPU graph it always shows the percentage in the middle, showing the CPU percentage it was when at the middle.

Example, the screenshot shows 3%, but that's from after the spike a bit to the left of the middle.

My OS is Windows 10, web browsers are Edge and Waterfox. Also saw this in Google Chrome and Vivaldi.

Looks good. But all those white separation lines could be a bit more grey-ish, perhaps?
To make the white stand out less more.

17.7 Legacy Series / Re: How do I turn off OPNSense firewall? like windows firewall.....
« on: January 13, 2018, 12:37:25 pm »
Just to clarify, you do not turn off a firewall. That will mean no traffic will be passed at all.
For Windows Firewall not to do anything, you Disable its profiles (Domain, Private and/or Public).

The very last line is added when it crashes.
I checked before I logged in as "installer".

Hope it helps.

Haven't seen anything special during boot, but will check it this afternoon after the crash.
Haven't tried logging in to run as livecd to check dmesg either.

I will check this afternoon and report back.

Alright. I will test again when 18.1-RC2 comes out.

18.1 Legacy Series / Hyper-V 2016 Gen 2 crash on copying files
« on: January 11, 2018, 08:32:18 pm »
I created a Gen 2 VM with 4 cores, 1GB RAM and a 16GB dynamic VHDX, 2 NICs.

Gen 1 started installing fine, then realized FreeBSD 11.1 supports Gen 2, so started over.
But, as soon as the installer starts the copy of files, after selecting the guided disk part, it crashes with the below error.

Reset and try again fails in the same spot.

The image I had from Franco a while back with the new kernel installed fine.
