24.1 Legacy Series / Problem after config backup
« on: July 08, 2024, 11:08:17 pm »
Hi All,

I encounter strange issues. I reinstalled OPNsense and did a backup from a config file. Everything seems to work and I get an IP from my ISP. However once OPNsense is fully booted I have no internet connection. The strange thing is while the VM is starting and stopping internet comes back briefly. I already reset my ISP's fibre converter just in case it needs to register the new MAC address or something but makes no difference. If I switch back to the original OPNsense VM internet is back without issue. Has anyone encountered something similar before and can help me out? I'm out of ideas.
Cheers,

Ok, think I got it.

That's what I did. Go to Interfaces-->Other Types-->VLAN and set up a VLAN with the Tag 10. Assign to the interface that has the connection from the ONT.

Go to Interfaces-->WAN-->Set to DHCP

Go to Interfaces-->Assignments--> Set the WAN interface to the newly created VLAN

Yes, it is Contact Energy. I just setup a VLan with the tag 10 and assigned it to a new interface which is connected to the interface the ONT is plugged in to. However, the new interface shows 0.0.0.0 as the IP on the Dashboard. Not sure what I've done wrong.

23.7 Legacy Series / ISP VLAN on WAN
« on: November 06, 2023, 05:56:03 am »
Hi All,

Changed ISP today and of course my internet stopped working. Previous ISP used PPPoE the new provider uses DHCP but requires a VLan ID 10 to be set. Unfortunately there is no such option in the OPNSense WAN interface.

Any has an idea on how to set up opnsense with the settings in the file attached?

Thanks,
Martin

23.1 Legacy Series / Re: Proxmox + N6005/N5105 + OPNsense + Frequent VM crashing/rebooting
« on: June 12, 2023, 02:37:22 pm »
Hi guys, really interested in this. Are there any further updates? I run a unit with N5105 and 4 NIC's as well and experience occasional crashes (every 4-5 days). The VM does not recover automatically and I have to hard reset the host every time.

Tutorials and FAQs / Re: TUTORIAL Nginx + Let's Encrypt for Plex / Emby / Jellyfin 100% A+ Rating

I am exposing my Home Assistant server using the nginx plugin with no problem. Tried to do the same with Jellyfin (same setting) and the result is 502 Bad Gateway. Followed this (btw. awesome) tutorial but I still get a 502 Bad Gateway when I enter the domain that links to my Jellyfin Server. Any ideas? I already spent hours on this. Thank you
