They are all transparent.

What you see I believe is just the fact that the traffic on WAN (aggregation of all other interfaces/VLANs towards internet) has highe throughput in order to show it on a graph the Y axis need to be adjusted to accommodate that so the Steps on Y are bigger than is the ratio on the other interfaces.

Look at the graphs again, you can see that the max throughput at the time is 700Kbit, but WAN actually receives 25Mbit

Thanks!  That's what I though as well - So when a device is streaming from the internet - the WAN interface simply drowns out all other traffic . . . I tested this by making sure that nothing is streaming and you are right - the WAN color is transparent as well  ;D

Nothing to see here - back to the regular program  ;)

Just a question - using latest 23.7.3 - when showing traffic graph either on dashboard or direct - when I choose WAN interface - it drowns out all other interfaces (not transparent) - but if I turn WAN off - I get all other interfaces shown (they don't cover each other and are transparent) - is this by design?!?

I've been seeing many errors in the logs with 23.7.3 (see attached)

I also found a similar reference from this link:

But haven't found a solution or a suggestion as to what this is . . .

Though I'd post here because it's applicable to the latest version !

Same issue with latest version 23.7.3 - see attachment . . .

If the host didn't change we can't rule out a regression in the FreeBSD disk driver in 13.2. But it's pretty hard to pin this down so we would require FreeBSD to publish errata for it... which requires this being noticed and reported upstream... which requires a bug in the disk driver... which is not 100% a safe bet.

Thanks CJ - Unfortunately, I'm running this on Proxmox virtualized  . . . To be quite honest, I have run this instance since 22.1 with constant updates up to 23.7.3 - without this sluggish problem - it has only been apparent from the last update from 23.1.11 to 23.7
So I doubt there is an SSD issue . . . 

My two cents once again -  ;D

I would recommend having the Draytek Vigor 130 perform the PPPOE and establish the internet from the modem side - then just plug it into the WAN side of the router - One less thing to worry about on the OPNSense config . . .  ;)

I would also start from a fresh install from OPNSense - maybe using this guide:

Take a deep breath and keep trying - Out of the box, OPNSense should just work for your scenario . . . and it's well worth the learning curve!  :D

Previous upgrades on same box (N5105) were always relatively snappy - but when I updates from 23.7.1 to 23.7.2 it took an unusually long time extracting various files ?!?

I thought the system hung a few times because it was unusually long . . .

Today, there was a small update from the Sensei package - it got stuck on "Extracting" for about 4 minutes . . . then finally completed - no errors in the logs either:

Just updated to 23.7.2 from 23.7.1_2 - look like Zenarmor is broken now ?!?

I get:

Firewall not found!
It may have been deleted or you are not authorized to view it or it may not have existed at all.

Have to revert back to 23.7.1_2

Any suggestions regarding modem? Not necessarily a specific model, but what things to go for/avoid in general terms?

Not sure how fast your DSL is - or whether it's Supervectoring or not - but. I'd start with going to Amazon UK site and type in "DSL Modem" and see what pops up - I know the Draytek Vigors seem quite popular -

Just a small hint:  Fritzboxes do NOT have the ability to bridge their modems - the mode setting for the FritzBox as an IP-Client disables the FW & NAT and allows the Fritzbox to be a simple IP client on an existing network (meaning using something else as gateway & firewall)

If you have a DSL line from your provider - best solution is to invest in a simple DSL Modem like Draytek Vigor130 or Vigor167 - as alternative, you can use a device like the Deutsche Telekom's Speedport Smart 3/4 devices which DO allow bridged mode (modem only)

Then you can use the OPN to get to the internet  8)

hah this is a good one. In that case I agree what is said here, get an only modem capable device.

BTW I found few topics where some people were able to force FrtizBox into bridge mode by adjusting the .conf file

As far as I know - this only applies to the Cable modem Fritzboxes (6000 series) and not the DSL ones  :(

Understood - annoying, but not a deal-breaker.  Somethings weird with the refreshing as well . . . I guess no too many zoom in their browsers much - Thanks for the quick reply though!

Running latest (23.7.1_3) - using latest Firefox (also tested latest Chrome) - when zooming in on dashboard (past 120%), the text does not scale properly - and instead of wrapping within the columns, text stretches beyond the column borders (see screenshot)

I was using the legacy client before the upgrade to 23.7 - de-installed it and installed the ddclient version before the upgrade.  After upgrade, if I use ddclient backend - the service does not start ?!?  If I use opnsense backend - it starts, but nothing happens with my DynDNS account (nothing updates and no log information) - Something is broken . . .
