This is the WAN interface setting, on 23.7 I was able to check the assigned prefix via interface overview.

Hi Franco thanks for your reply. I'm currently running 24.1.4 where should I find the whole IPv6 prefix range? I see a lot of /64's for the LAN VLAN's but not the over coupling /56?

Hi team

keep up the good work! Since the new interfaces overview I'm missing the field to read out the full assigned provider DHCPv6 prefix /56 or /57. Could that view be added back to the overview? Or can I collect that data via CLI?

You need to find out which proces is causing the spikes. Process manager in the GUI or via CLI.

Yeah that is checked but doesn't make a diff, I updated the GitHub thread with some routing logs. Its better readable there, I noticed a lot of timer words in the logs.

Yeah that seems to be spot on, with pfSense I do not have the issue.

Box access isn't an issue, I can imagine you flip the PPPoE and try to collect logs? Does it help if I take the boot cycle on video via the HDMI port?

I think the best way is to add extra prints to the syslog:

-stage 1 passed
-stage 2 passed
-stage 3 empty radvd.conf

But that take you an amount of time to program into the box?

Hi Franco

When i diff the prefixes are missing in the faulty situation, which make sense. The tunable does not solve it really, it seems to ocour less. I noticed the problem due to zenarmor creating ipv6 downtime after a process restart.

After a regular reboot, with zenarmor disabled for startup, it does not start well too.

After a PPPoE toggle down/up is seems the PID has changed so it might have restarted, and the issue could be due to a timing issue?

Hi all

Just moved from pfSense plus to OPNsense and after some config changes, or zenarmor changes I noticed that clients where unable to browse IPv6 sites. As it seems the result is that the router advertisement daemon is waiting for a IPv6 WAN address, but it will never get that. My ISP only hands out DHCPv6-PD ranges for the LAN, so when you look at the ICMP screenshot of OPN that traffic is sourced from an IPv6 LAN address, not the WAN.

When I restart the router advertisement daemon all starts pinging in the same second.

What is the process of filing a bug report? Or are any custom values for the advanced field available?

Maybe a kind of "request WAN address"?

The patch will be included in 23.7.8 onwards so no need to run the patching there!

# opnsense-patch e4c857f0

(only apply the patch once otherwise it's going to be removed again)

# pluginctl -f OPNsense.Firewall.Alias
# pluginctl -f aliases

(confirm delete of garbage entries to allow for a migration)

edit /conf/config.xml to add your pFsense <aliases/> section cleanly again -- it should go right above the last line of the file saying </opnsense>

# /usr/local/opnsense/mvc/script/run_migrations.php
Migrated OPNsense\Firewall\Alias from 0.0.0 to 1.0.1

In case there are errors please post them here. They can be seen via the following command when the migration would fail.

# opnsense-log
