fyi: I do not work for PFMonitor and I have not used this application.

I used the word "banned" because of the following reply I received from Brent at PFMonitor.

I asked if current versions of OPNsense 23.x (and beyond) would work with PFMonitor?

He said:No.
"It was made impossible to support by the developers of OpenSense they added code that uninstalls my plug-in if it's found during any update"

This seems like a good use case for some OPNsense users?

22.1 Legacy Series / TOTP 2FA rollback to Local Database

Since I messed something up & have locked myself out, I'm trying to reset root pw & rollback to local database.

I follow this procedure: https://protectli.com/kb/how-to-reset-the-opnsense-root-password/
>>> Do you want to set it back to Local Database? [y/N]:y
After changing the root pw, I get this error message:

PHP warning xml failed to open stream....read only file system in /usr.....php

The system will not rollback to local database.

Any ideas??

My fault, I was typing something wrong, all is well.

Virtual private networks / Windows 10 VPN client will not connect to Meraki

1 - Win 10 vpn client behind OPNsense firewall <--> EdgeRouter 4 (client site) = can connect.

2 - Win 10 vpn client behind OPNsense firewall <--> Meraki MX (client site) = can NOT connect.

3 - Win 10 vpn client behind iPhone hotspot (bypassing OPNsense) <--> Meraki MX (client site) = can connect.

If I do a Site-to-Site on #2, that also connects.

Any ideas why #2 will not connect?

Without flint, how else can you update the firmware of the Mellanox nic?
btw, I'm using the instructions from @mimugmail blog post.

When I try to execute this command:

flint_ext -d pci0:4:0:0 q
I get an error:

"libstdc++.so.6" not found, required by "flint_ext"
How do I fix?

You have to load mlnx5 driver. Just search for Connect x3 and replace with 5

Is this still valid for mlnx5?

Do I still need cli or can I use the GUI (System Tunables) to add mlx5en_load=“YES“

I have a Mellanox MCX456A-ECAT ConnectX-4.
Motherboard is SuperMicro SYS-5018D-FN4T.

What do I need to get this NIC to show up as an interface?
