General Discussion / Re: How to get traffic back from static address on different interface?
« on: January 24, 2021, 03:16:35 am »
Sounds like you need to add a static route to the other network on the modem. The modem would be unaware of other networks unless you tell it about them.

What dns server did you setup on opnsense? Unbound? If so you add a records in there or ptr records.

21.1 Legacy Series / Re: Native-kernel wireguard support for 21.1 feasible? FreeBSD 13 may have it
« on: January 24, 2021, 03:10:08 am »
For those of us using wireguard via the plugin will it be possible to migrate the setup to this new method? I have quite a few devices setup using the normal current method.

Thats strange. I would have imagined 10.0.0.0/24 to work. Did you have a screenshot to understand better?

Yes creators are always of have hack opnsense. You should not use it and instead find something else more appropriate to you. This is not for you.

Thank you for your post. Good luck in your search.

General Discussion / Re: Upgrade or Downgrade?
« on: January 21, 2021, 10:24:39 pm »
I know when unbound had an issue I ran the command:

opnsense-revert -r 20.7.6 unbound

So I am thinking you could try something along the lines of:

opnsense-revert -r 20.7.8 n2disk

Maybe that will change just that package?

Today I did the following:
Peter

Good howto. I've just used your steps to resize my root partition. Worked flawlessly. Maybe with a little doc-fu it can be added to the docs or pinned?

No worries, Nothing broke for me still since I did this and I just updated OPNsense yesterday to the latest version so its still in use and working fine.

General Discussion / Re: Bell Fibe settings for bypassing Bell Home Hub 3000 and using SFP
« on: January 18, 2021, 05:02:36 am »
I have Bell Fibe in Canada and did not need to use an sfp converter. I simply plugged my nic from opnsense into the lan port of the router and in opnsense setup pppoe. This is quite elegant as it does not disrupt the TV part, nor disable the router in case of a fault and bell want to reset it and check your line etc. The Opnsense gets a different public IP so in effect you get an extra public IP for dedicated use for what you want to do without having a "special setup" bell wont support.

Also check there are no NAT rules for ICMP.

Virtual private networks / Re: Several wireguard servers and clients
« on: January 06, 2021, 11:09:34 pm »
I dont use vlans but have multiple clients connected to and from my opnsense. Not sure if that help.

Also in WG there is no server-client model, everything is just a client. IP roaming is possible on both sides as a result.
