Try taking out the vlans one by one and when you see the cpu drop it may be a worth comparing the settings in the one causing the CPU pegging to the others that don't

Thanks again, installing it now everywhere.

For those interested it is even usable from a phone depending on the app used.

Applying the mitigation will suffice until 26.1.6 arrives, which may not happen next week if nothing else more serious needs patching in the meantime.

You set the TLS key in the Static Keys tab.

Then go back to your instance and the key will be available to use.
#35
Apply 25.7 updates then check for updates again to retrieve the plugins.

Reboot - Snapshot

Install HA - Snapshot

Move to 26.1, then 26.1.5

If needed install the os-isc-dhcp but I don't think it will be the case.

Post health check here.

Grr... trying to make sense of it all :)

Ok, assuming you're on 26.1 fresh install, upgrade to 26.1.5, after reboot install os-isc-dhcp, then check for updates again and wait for the missing plugins to be reinstalled.

Reboot again and you should be back up with almost everything.

Add mimugmail repo and reinstall home assistant—-but take a snapshot first as it may not work. Michael still has to rebuild his repo for the python 3.13 change but we're two weeks in and it didn't happen yet, so just in case something breaks badly with HA have a snapshot and wait until Michael has a python3.13 repo ready.

Before moving on with HA installation do a health check and post it here

Start by updating 25.7. When check for updates again and your OPN plugins will be restored. For mimugmail you'll need to add the repo again.

When 25.7 is back up, take a snapshot. Then upgrade to the latest 26.1 ( so upgrade twice )

We can discuss 26.1 issues when/if you have the same bad outcome coming up to 26.1.5.

Erm...if you're getting none then maybe wait until you get a more satisfactory response?

Anything else that happened in the past is pure speculation but it all boils down to user error for me - no proper troubleshooting, not asking for help on the forums, no snapshots and nuking everything and starting over from an older version than necessary-when 26.1 would have been enough.

Wait until 26.4 BE is published beginning of April. That way the changes between CE and BE will be minimal

You're fine, there's nothing to worry about.

Glib will be fixed whenever the mimugmail repo is updated for python313.

So in ISC on the selected interface I disabled " Enable DHCP server on the <named> interface " option. Save and apply.

Back in KEA-select only the interface(s) for which I already recreated the vlan information and reservations- start service.

I had no issues running both KEA and ISC in parallel, each on their own interfaces/vlans, while working on moving the vlans from one to another.

Quote from: Patrick M. Hausen on March 17, 2026, 09:51:52 AMOne subnet at a time is not possible. ISC will "cling" to all interfaces even the ones it is not actively serving, so Kea cannot bind to any of them. It's all or nothing.

Funny story, when KEA first appeared in OPNsense this is exactly how I migrated 4 FWs with no downtime:

1) Create KEA vlan and migrate reservations

2) Stop ISC, remove vlan from the active pool, restart ISC and KEA and check DHCP on the KEA vlan.

3) Move on to the next vlan

I've no idea if or why things could have changed in the meantime.

Sam created this script to help migrating to either Kea or Dnsmasq and made a video about it on his YouTube channel —- unsure what happened with that video.

The repo is still available though:
