Can confirm issues remain after _5, and I'm seeing it on much more powerful systems such as N5105 or J3710 CPUs with 8GB RAM. I checked whether removing/re-adding the widgets makes a difference and it doesn't.

24.7 is just around the corner will bring OpenVPN 2.6.12, probably best to wait for it.
Unsure if it will "magically" fix the issue or not, so I'd recommend opening a Github ticket for tracking this - referencing this thread - as it may require further troubleshooting on the OPNsense side too.

I have it running on 2 FWs, so far so good.
Can't test on the others as I lost access there due to a Zerotier issue that seems to have been introduced in RC1/RC2 - sent you an email about it.

It's best to leave the core services running on their default ports, plugins can be set up on any other ports with an associated port forward rule.
Would be a lot cleaner for troubleshooting, and in case of a plugin/service loss you'll know the FW boots and it is operational even if a faulty upgrade brought down AdGuardHome in this case.

There's no firewall for traffic on the same lan - unless you have one configured on each host.

Just to make sure we're on the same page here, there can be crashes in programs that you can report from the GUI, restart said program and everything else on the FW continues working normally. The OPNsense team receives the crash reports and the issue is fixed one way or another and available shortly in an update.
This thread is about kernel panics on 24.1.r1 and the OS being rebooted automatically -- of which I had none for the last few kernels I tested on 3 FWs.
Uptime on 24.7.r1_7 is now over 10 hours.

No, your public IP is not needed as long as it is public and you're not dropping traffic because of a private IP on the WAN and the improper settings on the interface.

Try two more things please:
WAN interface
- make sure Block private networks is unchecked (unsure what IP you have on wan)
- IPv6 Configuration Type set to None

Only noticed r1_7 about 75 minutes ago, applied on the 3 FWs and working fine so far from a crashing perspective
