sadly no answer, but I found a way to solve the issue.
It might be a good idea to add an item to the documentation on how in general you can provide Wifi users access to a, or to their preferred VPN access provider on the Internet. I was now able to allow any OpenVPN connections to Internet for WIFI users. But it took me some days. There is lots of documentation on how to set up OPNsense as a OpenVPN client or a OpenVPN server, or set up a fixed OpenVPN tunnel, but that is of course something completely different.
I don't feel confident to write down how I did this, hopefully a more experienced user can do this in a proper way.
