so must I assume firewall doesn't work properly?
Hey folks, any suggestion?
Thanks
#32
I created and enabled an alias as follow:
- name: gmail
- type: Host(s)
- Description: smtp.gmail.com
- Content: smtp.gmail.com
I tested the alias in: Firewall / Diagnostics / pfTables
It resolves 64.233.184.109
I modified the rule as follow:
- source addres: <NAS.IP.ADDR.ESS/32>
- source port: <ANY>
- destination address: gmail
- destination port: <ANY>
or
- destination port: 587
but it doesn't permit the NAS to send email

Hello to all,
Opnsense 19
I'm experimenting an issue driving me nut:
I would like to send emails from a NAS behind the firewall
The NAS is correctly configured to use smtp.gmail.com:587 and works fine only if I put a rule on the server interface like this one:
- source addres: <NAS.IP.ADDR.ESS/32>
- source port: <ANY>
- destination address: <ANY>
- destination port: <ANY>
Now I would like to shrink the rule specifying "destination address" and "destination port" but the firewall doesn't accept "smtp.gmail.com".
I tried to use the ip address resolving smtp.gmail.com but it doesn't work
Is there a way to use the name instead of the IP in the field "destination address" of the rule?
Thanks so much for your kindly help
best regards
Dario

Hello,
my environment:
OpnSense 19.7.1
OpenVPN road warrior
autenticaction Remote Access (SSL/TLS + User Auth)
all work fine
I would like to revoke the user certificate for the user "test" so to make unusable its VPN connection
I toke a look inside OpnSense looking for a "revocation users certificates", I just found "Revocation" under "System" "Trust"; it seems to be the way to create the "Certificate Revocation List" but I would like to have your ok before to start following this way.
In case this's the correct way I'll create the CRL where put the certificates to revoke, is this correct?
Thanks so much for your kindly help

after a reboot it seems to work
now in Services -> Nut -> Diagnostics I find data
but disconnecting the UPS from the line th appliance doesn't shut down
Perhaps the UPS needs to reach the end of the battery charge before send the shutdown command to the appliance?
In this case is there a way to force the graceful shutdown?
Thank you
Dario

yep of course
Riello-driver
enable
Extra Arguments: "port=Auto"

Hello mimugmail,
I made a clear installation of rel 19.7
then via console I wrote the command "pkg install os-nut-devel" (it ended fine)
after this in Lobby -> Dashboard -> widget Services I find as follow:
service "nut_upsmon" description "Network UPS Monitor" seems started (it's marked in green color)
service "nut_daemon" description "Network UPS Tools" doesn't start (it remains marked in red colour)
obviously the UPS doesn't shutdown the appliance
any suggestion?
feel free to ask me for any test
Thank so much
Dario
